Hi @aliferis. Just wanted to follow up and let you know that we have seen this and chatting with a few teams to see what is possible. We'll follow up with you directly via a DM, but wanted to make sure we followed up generally.

So everyone who was affected by the hurricane or just the OP ?

I’m sure anyone. If you message Kevin directly, you could explain your situation and give your ticket number.

He’s pretty great at replying to inbox messages.

Just wanted to say thanks for doing this for them, and to take the time to remind people what it means to be a community.

a feeling of fellowship with others, as a result of sharing common attitudes, interests, and goals.

People should be treating each other with more respect. When I read some of the harsh responses to @aliferis, I couldn’t help but feel disappointed.

It’s one thing to dispute something, but to tell them to “Man up” because they asked for help after getting hit by a hurricane? That’s despicable.

We should be elevating each other when we’ve fallen; as we’re all here for the same purpose… to share in our love of ESO however that projects itself.

While I get sometimes the game is rough, and I’m guilty of making doom posts from time-to-time which I’m sorry for, we should never let our frustration with the game manifest into hostile language or behaviors toward our fellow players.

TLDR; Let’s work on treating each other better.

Thanks for doing this, Kevin. Though I was impacted, unable to play for about a week, the only thing I really missed were some tickets but my internet came back soon enough to at least do a few days of the event and I was back in time to claim the Fallen Leaves bundle. I really appreciate the care and kindness you are offering to those who may not have been as lucky. <3

    It's a great start.
Let's hope zos will consider helping players that did miss past events for similar reasons too or better add a way in game to purchase past event items.

I, too, have been greatly affected by Hurricane Helene, as well as Hurricane Milton (literally right now), as Milton made landfall about 2 hours ago near my area — 2 weeks after Hurricane Helene also hit my area.
I currently have nothing but time, as no one can control nature. So, here I am. Waiting.

Some of us don't have the support system of outside resources.
Some of us are disabled and do not drive. (Myself included.)
Some of us do not have close friends or family. (Again, me.)
Some of us use ESO as our primary form of IRL escapism. (Take another guess again on who.)

But, these unfortunate IRL natural disaster events occur during my favorite ESO events and themed crown store items (October & Halloween-related, if you can't tell).
ESO Customer Support twice denied my request for the Swarm of Crows Memento (40 gems) on 07/05/24 & 08/10/24.
October's 2024 Crown Store Showcase includes 3 highly-desired things, for me (which I have waited nearly all year for):
-The Shadow Queen's Labyrinth house (returning)
-The Furnishing Pack: Hollowjack items (returning)
-The Reaper's End Quasigriff mount (brand new)

But, I currently no longer have access to play ESO, at the moment. My ESO+ renews tomorrow, too. But, that doesn't matter.
What is truly unfortunate is ZOS's artificial-scarcity monetization-strategy with regards to "limited-time" crown store crates and items, which are all virtual digital goods and therefore should always be available. They are literally pixels on a screen. But, this anti-consumer strategy is the default practice in today's interactive entertainment landscape. I wish it would change.

Good luck that was my response so I take my little $15 a month elsewhere. Won’t hurt them though but at least I won’t be giving to this kind of company.

So they only make $14,999,985.00 this month? :o Think of the hungry devs Jim!

I am so glad to see this! Stay safe out there everyone.

BTW: Will those currently being affected by Hurricane Milton be able to claim this as well?

I have limited cell service, but still without internet and electricity — missing out on most of October's limited-time events and rewards.

In what way were any of my previous messages nasty or not kind? I am confounded. Because I admit that I simply do not have the emotional capacity to deeply care about every single horror that unfolds in the world? I am exhausted by trying to care about every horror that befalls the world.

Everyone handles grief differently. If a person is not hurting themselves or others, let them process their grief the way that they need. OP wanted to try to do something they can control to bring themselves a small amount of comfort with a small, distracting, and utterly harmless task. And people are judging them for it. While also saying how they don't care.

You don't like that I find such a message I unkind? I'm sorry that you feel that way. Now, imagine how judgement would feel if someone was doing it to you for how you were grieving after losing so much. I don't think people doing that are necessarily bad or unkind people. I get this is a video game forum and it may have simply caught them off guard. But it is still, imo, an unkind thing to post to a hurricane victim. Sometimes, it is better to simply skip a thread if one does not care. And I certainly understand not caring. None of us can care about every tragedy in the world. We can simply skip participating in threads about ones we don't care about.

It's not that I do not like that you find such a message (mine) unkind, it's that I simply do not understand how, in being honest, I am being unkind, nasty or callous, but I guess we shall just beg to differ. The OP is alive and by all accounts unharmed. I guess in the end, that is all that really matters. I am glad for them in that regard and wish them a speedy return to normality.

I have to reply to this, because it contains an incredibly hurtful way of communicating with someone going through a disaster and all the accompanying concerns: Being alive is obviously not all that really matters. By that standard no problem is really a problem until you are dead. I dislike the "it could be worse, and just be grateful that it isn't" attitude so much - it often comes with a decline for help, when someone in trouble reaches out. And while the decline might be valid (I'm not saying it is or isn't here), the following "The OP is alive and by all accounts unharmed. Guess in the end, that is all that really matters." - is not an okay response to pack it with.

When my house burned, a lot of people kept saying "oh it's lucky you weren't home, you could be dead" - great, my house burned I lost all my things. I got pantyhose melted in to my skin, I hurt myself because I fought to get into the house and get my friends cat out, it wasn't until a few minutes into that attempt that I realized she'd picked it up the evening before. But somehow people want to tell me I'm lucky!? It's been years, and I still feel the impact every day, I'm not the same person, my life is worse for it every day, it cost money that I have to work hard for. And it set me back in studying, and I still have physical scars that reminds me of the fire - every day! I get that the first concern is safety, and that it makes people reflect on how we are lucky to still all be here, but this is exactly where your post feels unfeeling, in that it disregards every other thing that matters, and that the person going through the disaster/crisis/problem is mourning about their worsened life situation. Start by thinking thoroughly and empathize with someone, or what you try to express as helpful might very well come off as the opposite.

    Did you ask for help?

That does not answer my question.
