Killed by another player in Spindleclutch II Dungeon

Hi.

I can't understand.
Why in Death Recap I see damage by another player?
while fighting the boss Praxin Douare, I found myself dead with a lot of damage from a player who was in my party, as shown in this image:

I assume this is the boss' instakill mechanic where he curses one group member with a red circle centred on them which slowly moves around. The chosen group member must stay inside the circle, as crossing it results in death, and similarly all other group members must stay away from them.

Highly amusing that it counts the damage as coming from the cursed player, if that's what is happening here.

I would recommend reading up on that boss' mechanics, as it has a number of them and is often a PuG killer.

The particular one in question though, as per UESP:

    Harrowing Ring

A red ring will surround a random player and stun them briefly. Once formed, the ring starts to move. The player inside must move along with the ring staying in the center, as any player that touches the ring will be instantly killed, along with the player standing inside the ring. The ring will dissipate by itself after a while. Players should note that attempting to leave the ring via rolling, Teleport Strike or other skills before the spell ends will result in death. Additionally, summoned Familiars will also trigger the ring, resulting in the center player's death.

So basically if you're in the ring, stay in the ring - if you're outside of the ring, stay outside of the ring... don't touch it or boom.

So TL;DR - the death recap isn't quite accurate in that the other player did not kill you in an intentional, pvp type of way - but the mechanic that killed you was attached to that player.

If that article is implying that the person on the inside of the ring also dies when someone on the outside touches it then that's incorrect...

It only kills the person(s) who touched the ring. If the person on the inside touches it then they die. If a person on the outside touches it then they die. And if both people touch it then they both die. But just because the person on the outside touched it does not automatically make the person on the inside die.

I've been inside of the ring countless times but have never died from someone on the outside touching it. I've even had people try to blame me for killing them with the ring just because I was inside and following it and it killed them when they touched it. Like, bro... Try learning the mechanics before blaming others for your mistakes LMAO.

The other player who was playing with me @Rishikesa108 is my wife! :):DB)
We play together all days and we both know the mechanics of the Vet Spindleclutch II dungeon perfectly, which we were doing just the two of us (without two other players because they were not necessary to be able to do Vet Spindleclutch II and we wanted to do it the two of us alone).
I absolutely did not want to blame my wife for killing me! :):DB)
We both just couldn't make sense of that death recap, which apparently included my wife in the damages that killed me.
My wife and I have no doubts at all about how the mechanics work.
We were just doubtful and curious to interpret that strange death recap in the correct way.
Thanks everyone for your comments. :):DB)

Yeah lol I'm not entirely sure if that's what the article is implying, it's written a little unclearly. I realize it probably wasn't the best thing to link tbh, as some of the content creators have better descriptions of the mechs.

some NPC mechanics attach to the player so it shows the player killed you

this mechanic, colors in MOL, breaking out with synergy in HRC, darkness in LC, the break synergy fighting the songbird WB in vvardenfell are all mechanics that i know off top of my head that can show the player killing others in PVE
    plays PC/NA

i have my main house (grand topal hideaway) listed in the housing tours, it has multiple target dummies, scribing altar, and grandmaster stations (in progress being filled out), as well as almost every antiquity furnishing on display to preview them

feel free to stop by and use the facilities

Oh, I wasn't meaning that you (or your partner) didn't know the mechanics. I was just referring to my own experiences when other players blamed me because they didn't know. ;)
