What was the point of releasing this set only to nerf it to the ground? Its far worse than relequen/runecarver now making it another useless set of many.

    I think the nerf was heavy handed. i would have been fine with either not being able to crit or a reduction to damage but not both.

    The set was overperforming, it did around 40% more damage than rele with the exact same proc reqs but now it’s just gutted. I did some tests on the PTS and it seemed to do around 5k when rele did around 10.5k.

    Was looking forward to running this set in live and have an actual break from the meta sets for a while but i guess now it’s just another corpse for the pile.

    Honestly, I want a good reason as to why x set being stronger than Relequen is a bad thing. Why has this been the benchmark set since it released half a decade ago? Why is nobody complaining about the fact Relequen can double proc?

    I agree the nerf was heavy-handed, and it should be allowed to crit, but keep the damage nerf there.
    Difficulty scaling is desperately needed. 9 years. 6 paid expansions. 25 DLCs. 41 game changing updates including A Realm Reborn-tier overhaul of the game including a permanent CP160 gear cap and ridiculous power creep thereafter. I'm sick and tired of hearing about Cadwell Silver&Gold as a "you think you do but you don't"-tier deflection to any criticism regarding the lack of overland difficulty in the game.

    Relequen is used as a benchmark because it is (was) the strongest pure ST proc set in the game, a niche that pyrebrand also happens to fill for PvE. There is no point to compare it to some middle of the road set to measure how strong something is.

    I don’t think it’s a problem that a set is stronger than relequen, i think the problem was that it was a whole 40% stronger while having the exact same proc conditions, no stacking mechanic to reach max damage (which is the largest downside of rele in content) and could proc burning.

    Regardless of how you view it in live, come the next patch and we’ll have another dead set.

    I've been hit with pyrebrand a lot by many fiery dragonknights, and I'm a tank wolf, I actually felt it was fine as is. Proposed changes to boost splash damage looks great, but don't nerf the visuals, it is the best fire set visuals you ever created ZOS 🔥

    I love fire sets and you should make more of them


    And maybe give some love to poor Sunderflame, make it AOE too and proc off any heavy instead of fully charged ✌️😁

    I was thinking of farming the set now I won't bother.

    There seem to be a lot of serious nerfs in this release. Shades of U35 :-(

    remember when ithelia's teeth were nerfed? Totally not needed, she had a great smile 😊
