ESO won't let my son give me a father's day gift in game

My son played ESO for a number of years, but took a break for awhile to try other games. For father's day he wanted to buy me a gift in game, but when he logs in he can't buy anything for anyone but himself. He contacted support but they basically did nothing saying he had been inactive for too long.
So basically once ESO gets your money they don't really care about supporting the users anymore.

@jrfk2 Gifting eligibility is determined by an evolving list of factors including but not limited to the account being at least 180 days past its first login and previous engagement with in-game features. You can view a list of Frequently asked questions here, and are welcome to submit a ticket to Support with any other questions.

My son had gifted previously, but there is no use opening a support ticket as he did that to no satisfaction

If you/your son had been inactive for a while, you might have missed what happened with gifting last year.

The tl;dr is that gifting was completely disabled for a couple months because of "fraudulent activity", and when gifting was reinstated, it was only enabled for certain accounts based on the factors that CouchTato mentioned above. For those without gifting enabled, they have to put in a support ticket requesting gifting... and it seems that players have had very mixed success with this process.

Some players have been denied and then put in a ticket appealing that decision, and have eventually had success that way, but the process is very frustrating and needs improvement. Unfortunately, if an account has been inactive for a while and only recently became active again, it may need to show activity for some amount of time before gifting will be considered. But it can't hurt to try again with support and try explaining the situation - I wish the process was better and more transparent and I wish you luck.

Yea, it should be more transparent and ZOS shouldnt refuse to tell me why I was declined.

I've tried to get this unlocked for months, and every time they tell me my account is not considered as active, but they cannot give any details what "active" means.

My account is active since the beta, eso+ running since 5 years, spent around 3k in crowns/sub, I'm close to 11k hours and i'm almost online on a daily basis, yet they keep me telling I'm not active enough and they cannot unlock the gifting feature. But they are unable to tell any more details because of..reasons.

So yea, either you get lucky and you get someone from support actually looking into your account or you just get a copy & paste answer for being declined and to try it again in the future.

It's funny how eso reaches bureaucracy levels of bad process. Makes me feel less bad about government.

my son's second ticket was rejected yet again saying he didn't meet "criteria" .. he's played ESO since it first started .. this is ridiculous ..

SO I opened a ticket about it .. the responded after either not reading it or failing to comprehend the situation.

It seems support is more interested in attaining ticket closure measurements rather than actually helping resolving custimer issues.
