Over the last few days I have experienced quite a lot of audio issues while playing the game. I have been able to isolate the issue to the game performance itself as I have attempted to do the following:
1. Reset all audio settings on my Xbox consoles.
2. Clear all save data for the game on the console side.
3. Uninstall and reinstall the game.
4. Install the game on the internal hard drive, and also external SSD.
5. Attempt to install the game on a different Xbox.
6. Clear network settings, alternate MAC address.
7. Change speaker audio options on the Xbox menu.
The issue is noticeable in several instances. When I turn in a quest, and the animation / sound effect plays out for the quest completing, if I begin dialogue for the follow-up quest at the same time, the NPC dialogue does not begin until sometimes 4 or 5 seconds after I begin the interaction. If I skip dialogue with an NPC and then try to listen to the next lines of dialogue, sometimes there will be a delay as well ... A few seconds were the NPC will animate, the lips will move, but no audio will come out.
Sometimes the audio cuts out for a second or two during combat, when I will hit a skill, or the enemy will do something that is supposed to trigger a sound effect, and the sound effect either does not trigger, or a triggers a few seconds delayed.
This issue is very frustrating as it takes away from the immersion of the game, and does not allow me to enjoy the story. I began to notice this issue a few days ago, but I'm unsure if it may have started earlier.
I jump between Xbox Series X, Xbox One X, and Xbox One systems depending on where I am, with the last gen systems used primarily at my families home (where I keep my old consoles), while at my own residence I use the current gen console. I may have noticed the issue once or twice on the Series X, but on the Xbox One machines I cannot play the game for 5 minutes without noticing it.
I understand that last gen systems are likely on their way out in terms of support for the game, but since the expansion released on the Xbox One systems, the game should be made to function well, at least with elements that are within developers full control.
