I heard the drop percentage of motif's when down in a past patch...but I can't get even ONE to drop anymore. I actively look for them. It's so bad I may have to settle for buying ones I want, which to me, is like buying items from a farmer. Just how low a drop rate are they now? Where can I find them now??? Kinda has taken a little bit of shine off the game IMHO.

I said it once before, it's great that Zenimax is trying to battle the bots but they are going about it the wrong way. They haven't done anything to stop bots but have managed to annoy some players.
4 weeks ago, motifs selling for 1k - 1.5k ....... today i'm seeing people buying them for 23k ........ and that was an Argonian one, not even one of the more "supposedly" rare ones.
All Zenimax have managed to do is make it far easier for those that farmed them to make gold.
In essence, Zenimax is helping the gold sellers.
basically all they did was reward those that farmed for motifs earlier, plus dupers.
because if they are super rare now the only players that benifit are the ones that farmed/duped them in the begining and now prices are rising again due to increased rarity.
the way i see it is all these loot changes are really doing is punishing the regular player, sure is slowing the farmers and bots, but at the same time just raising prices per item that farmers and bots get to sell.
i can not say what the perfect fix is, but these "punish the regular player fixes" just isnt the way to go.
just my opinion on what is going on, not claiming to be right either, but that is what it looks like to me.

Dupers were all suspended/banned, so if any slipped through the cracks, it wasn't enough to create a problem in the market. And legitimate players who farmed didn't save the motifs for a rainy day. Most of them sold them already. So the normalization has done exactly what you'd expect: made things normal for everyone.

perhaps, maybe they should change the color of the item from blue to purple or gold.
because as it is i get blue items just from random drops in regular areas at a decent rate and thats not even farming, thats just going around 1 or 2 extra times in the area before i leave killing stuff.
so a certain blue item becoming super rare in comparison to other regular blue items is hardly normal.

It's not too much. The rare motifs are supposed to be rare. Prior to the change, I found two rare motifs within an hour of hitting VR. That should be a statistical anomaly, but it wasn't at the time.

Really? Now you're arguing that the color is incorrect?
I actually get random blue drops fairly infrequently, but style books are blue because the developers wanted them to have a uniform color. They could have made them fuchsia. It's not important.
See WTB daeric motif for 120-150K in zone chat, normal ones has dropped off the chat, far more common that people want to sell level 40 green armor, even if part of set that belong in a shop.nerevarine1138 wrote: »basically all they did was reward those that farmed for motifs earlier, plus dupers.
