I arrived in coldharbor and at the groundskeeper (a little walk quest with a 282g reward) is a neverending chain of bots, serious we been standing in awe there and there were a constant chain of new bots doing this quest and all are lvl 3. How can zeni not ban these? If a gm stands there 1 hour they would ban hundreds or more accounts.

Have a search for Groundskeeper bots or Coldhabor bots. There's a lot of topics. It's been going on for weeks. Periodically GMs go and ban them, however there's so many it's completely pointless. A GM leaves and within minutes a few hundred more appear.

They're level 3 characters who shouldn't even HAVE access to Coldhabor - they're exploit teleporting there - which should show how much control Zenimax have over this. Just ignore them.

If this is known how come its not fixed? Ad 1! Lvl 45 boss or so and there all gone in this quest. It scared the hell out of me seeing this and went from being optimistic about this game to feeling its time to quit.

I don't think they exploit a teleport bug but more in a party and use teleport to player but I could be wrong. Without dissecting the program they use, I'm not sure how it works. Its sure spoiling the game, I know that much. I just hope Zenimax don't nerf more things in their futile effort to stop them.

Some of the main story quests still aren't working approaching 6 weeks since launch. You get the picture. It's a big game and this is just another one of the elements which need work.

You can report the bots in game if you want.

I dont live on these forums and had no clue and didnt see anything about it the first few pages so thats why i post this. Its very depressing to see this every day these bots are there the econemy goes down more and more. Why not remove the 282g reward its not people that lvl care about 282g imo.

So you are saying those that are lvl 38 to 42 are exploiting. Pretty broad statement there, are there any facts to prove this. I was 42 when I got to coldharbour.

another sugestion, i asume this characters run a series of quests that can be done without fighting are deleted and new bot character is created to run the same route.
an easy solution would be to limit character creation of an acount per day, say only 8 character creations a day.
thatway the bots would be a bit limited

but which real player would be limited by only being able to create 8 characters a day ?

It was badly worded but I think s/he is right. Set it to level 30 then. By the way, on my VR 2, I was 45 before getting to coldharbour and my level 45 still has 12 quests in riften + fighters guild, harbourage, mages guild, lots of world bosses yet to do so I will be level 47 at least before even stepping foot in coldharbour.

Ok, anyone under level 30... or 25... but he is right right now the bots control the game not ZENIMAX... you never see this in other MMO`s to be honest, sure you see some bots but not to this extend teleporting and taking a dump all over your game.

Its so embarrassing... makes you feel a bit ashamed you payed for this game when its clear not even the developer gives a crap.

They could just do what other games do, have a 12-24h cooldown for deleting a toon, a 12-24h window in which you can cancel the delete... it would also save a lot of support on the "oh i deleted my toon by mistake" cases.

But i doubt they care enough to tackle the bot problem... they just want them hidden and to hell with any economy. Sadly they can`t even get them hidden.

Yeah 30 I can see set as the limit of when you can go to coldharbour. I had seen one bot there and after I started the re-population of the city I no longer see them as they are stuck in the phase I no longer see. I haven't touched a single group dungeon and did only one public dungeon, did 2 dolmens, no world bosses and never touch pvp also short 3 quests in reaper's march due to a quest line bug.

Seen this also. Been asking myself this. It's so easy to change the code for respawn rate of nodes. But now i ifigured it out, Zeni sells games in a rapid speed. This is more worse then Lineage 2 !

You can't blame the bots. Every move ESO does makes gold more valuable. Items harder if not impossible to get. Thus its really a gold sellers game more then any other MMO I ever seen.

They could end armor repair. Add books for crafting as quest you do for crafting. Say one book every 10-15 lvls and then given a quest like ffxiV. A horse, besides being bought from their website, could been a reward for some quest. Maybe Molag bal or even V5 or V10. Again these would be the real ways to combat RMT.

Gold needs no purpose now besides bags and bank. Gold may serve more purpose as the game develops though.

Maybe gold would really lose its value, but in a way the less value goldhas in the game the more enjoyable the game would be. Everything you own was quested or dropped from a kill.

The solution would be to ban the account associated with the bot.

If people want to bot then they will need to cough-up the price for a new edition each time.

If some unscrupulous players want to screw-over the developers its about time that the developers make them pay for that.

@ZOS_JasonL I don't think you ever attempted to report a bot in a multibox chain, it is just impossible to target them all, and I think there is so much of them, reporting them all is just a boring new game inside the game..

The only good solution would be you to come in coldharbor and ban them in waves, there is no need of any investigation about this when you see a lvl 3 there...

Surely if you outright ban the account of a bot, then they would need to purchase a new edition of the game every time they want to bot. Eventually they will run out of motive?

guys, I said this in another thread, there are streams of bot running, it cannot possibly due to one or two or three accounts since it won't be able to have that many bot.

Something deeper in this game is wrong and they need to fix that, rather than banning one or two or three accounts.

There aren't one or two bot accounts. There's thousands. Back in 2005 it was estimated 100,000 people in China are employed to farm gold in MMOs. That was in 2005. The numbers far and away dwarf that of Zenimax.
