So I equipped a staff I happened to have not deconned yet on my stam toon and got through it,. Fortunately she had read enough books to have WoE available. Ice staff will work, but the path is not all that clear. Might just be the nature of the path, since I find the purple VERY hard to see where the edges actually are.

This is pathetic. A broken quest released to console today too. Yay! I love spending an entire day in a questline, only to have the final bit too broken to complete. 🤬😡

How is this bug, this GAME BREAKING BUG still here after test realm and PC/MAC have been live? Nothing works. Please fix this. Work-around doesn't work...can you just set this broken quest to be completed or somthing so I can finally move on???????

I don't know where to ask, but since it's due to this bug, I guess I ask here?

So, I spent hours getting through that questline yesterday, only to be shutout at the end of it, due to quest breaking bugs when you get to Labyrinthian with the Fox. There is a mount available for FREE in the store right now, with a time limit on it, and you have to get the achievement for finishing this questline in order to claim it.

So, are you going to extend the deadline to claim this duo rider mount, or what? I can't actually get the achievement because the game is broken, so how will this be handled?

I'm on Xbox, by the way, so no workarounds work for me...

Thanks in advance for any insight offered.

In case it wasn't noted, get a lightning staff and strike the "ground" when you get stuck. That will show the path forward. Abandoning the quest can be a real pain since it is far too easy to fall off the path along the way.

I will note that I also found a "missed item" along the way earlier when the fox stopped before the point noted just above. I couldn't find a missed on for that stage, though you should never have to go back to find the things to disperse!

Thanks for the suggestion. I read what others did, even saw an example on youtube...

I'm not going to invest a bunch more hours trying to abandon and re-do that quest with the "workaround" of AOE or lightning staff. I shouldn't have to! I bought the deluxe version of Gold Road, as I do every new Chapter, because I want to support the game. If they fix it in time for the mount, groovy. Otherwise, I'll just forget about it, I guess. Life is stressful enough without adding stress to my gaming hobby that I use to de-stress!

I've restarted the quest more times than I can count. I have gotten to the second platform and it happens again! Going from the second to the third it stops. I can see a couple of wards in the distance but they are too far away. I can get a little further with using an AOE to show the path but then that just leads me back to the fox still stuck in mid-air. This is majorly broken.

Of course just jumping off the path does nothing.

I cleared all the wards but the path disappeared with me just short of the end. I fell and on restarting the fox never shows me the last section. Always the first section sometimes the second section never shows the third. I can walk out on thin air for a while but then loss the path. Rinse and repeat. This is on PS5. To describe this a frustrating is hardly sufficient.

So does anyone know if this is truly fixed on the PC? I read the patch notes and it doesn't sound like they are talking about any fixes for the fox stopping more than once...

For whatever it might be worth, I ran into similar issues with the first character who tried to do the chasm path. The major problem I found for my character was being in first-person view. I could use ground AoEs from my destro staff to suss out where the path was, but the Fox wouldn't budge and the quest wouldn't progress because the character couldn't see the seals. After falling through a few times (and respawning - that was thoughtful), switching to third-person view where I could see the seals got me across the chasm and the rest of the mission completed without further issues. For the second character through, I immediately switched to third-person view and pretty much pranced my way down the path, mostly being limited by needing to follow the Fox.
I'm fresh out of outrage, but I could muster up some amused annoyance if required.

This is still broken. I can't get past the first part of the path, the fox stops walking, I can't see anything to activate, and there's nothing more to do. I tried reloadui, leaving, using the lightning staff trick, nothing worked. My main character has been the one doing all the other quests, and he doesn't have any ability that will highlight an invisible path other than trying a lightning staff, which did nothing at the second jump off point. I guess I'm not getting that mount?

It seems that if you fall and die or port to wayshrine at the start of the dungeon, or exit, the quest marker disappears and so do actual the focus points. I have 2/3 done in this last stage of the quest but the quest marker now points to the exit (to the quest line bestower?) There is no sign of the last focus point anywhere. I used maps and ran around all the spawn points to make sure. I am reluctant to abandon.

    This has happened to others.

It maybe the same issue as with the fox quest line discussed above. If you fall it breaks the quest progress. Then the only choice is to start the whole thing again :(
For the fox quest, if you fall off the floating platform, it only ports you back to the start of the platform route, it doesn't force you to restart the whole quest. It's inconvenient, of course, I'm not disputing that.

Falling and getting put back at the start actually helped me to complete that quest.

I know you already got it finished, finally, but for anyone else's benefit I just want to point out that if you see wards that are too far away and you can't interact with them, they're actually for the next leg(s) of the path, so just ignore those and dispel the wards which are close enough to interact with. I think there's something like 2 on the first leg, 3 on the second leg, and 3 more on the third leg, but it's been a few weeks since I did it so I might be wrong.

I've run into this a couple times, and have a different workaround.

If the fox gets stuck, just walk directly from the fox toward the point where the path is supposed to end. About a meter or two before you reach the "landing" spot, take a slight left and keep walking.

The path is still there, it's just not lit up/it's invisible. So walking it is a bit more challenging, but you can do it.

    I just ran this yesterday.

You did not clear the sigil that was on top of the dragon pillar before you started on the invisible path.

It was right in front of the purple circle focus point on the ground.

That is why the fox did not proceed.

@ZOS_Kevin Could you please ask the team if they could darken or change the color of the path from light purple on white that is hard to see for some of us old farts.

I just experienced this bug tonight on PS4. It's extremely frustrating to just have the fox just stop and go no further. Can we expect a fix for PS4 anytime soon?

@MrCaptainPants Did you dispel the sigil before heading out on the invisible path as I described above? You can see the sigil in the video above.

I had dispelled all the wards that could be dispelled. I realized after the first 3-4 tries that some of the wards were invisible so I was careful to look for those the next few times.

Thanks for the reply. I abandoned the quest and tried again. I did dispel the first sigil before heading down the path, yes, but I tried again later and dispelled a *second* sigil while still on the path, and that seemed to fix it. At least I *think* I did. I ran it so many times it all blurs together as one, lol.

In the end, I was able to complete it, though this part of the quest was not at all enjoyable. Well, except for Mr. Fox himself, who is absolutely adorable! 😁

I did not know about this bug until I tried to follow the fox after today's update. The fox stopped like it has for others. I kept walking and I fell. The problem was that the path did not reset. The fox went back to the beginning and just sat there and the quest could not progress.

The concern I have that almost a month after the launch, this is still a quest buster. I do not have the time to attempt this ten to fifteen times. I would like to echo the poster who asked that the time to get the mount achievement be extended. I would add that the extension be for 30 days after this quest is fixed.

Can you lighten the color of the path. Its hard for some of us old folks to see the path...especially when we have to get to the end in a hurry before it times out. No m atter what I do, I get near the end and the wards dissappear and I cant dispell them. How about after a certain number of tries, the path just appears. And tht is another thing...some of us disabled folks wont be able to complete this as any arm/hand/wrist issues make it hard to follow the Fox fast enough. This really sucks. If I wanted an arcade game, I would get one. This is ridiculous...I have spent way too much m,oney on this to deal with this crap.

I will try this Kevin, thank you. I’ll let you know.

There is a way to cheese it. If you have a ground AOE like wall of the elements, you can use it to see where the path is to continue forward until you can reach the symbols in the sky. I had to do this after I fell, and after I used one of the ward symbols farther on the path the fox started moving again. :)

This is the only thing that helped me progress, thank you! The fox was stuck in super slow motion, and the wards would expire before I could reach them...

If the fox goes back to the beginning, he will just sit there until you dispel the first ward all over again, at which point he will start moving forward as before and you'll need to dispel all of the wards again as you follow him.

So this is still broken?? Wow! I would have thought fixing this would be a priority as you can use the main feature of the update without it.

Anyway, I ended up just abandoning the fox. I used the AOE from my staff to mark the path, took it slow and just walked to the end. This worked fine for me but it was time-consuming.

The fox is really adorable, too bad his quest is bugged.
