PS5 My first Ink farm run

1 hour farm run today got 2 Ink, so my worst Ink farm run yet but I had my best yesterday with 16 Ink so I guess it evens out.

As all these anecdotes show, the drop rate is "streaky." Sometimes you get a hit every 5-10 minutes, other times you can go for an hour and never get any. In my opinion, that's a terrible way to setup a drop in a game like this. It's not fun, which, after all, is supposed to be the whole point of a video game.

If that were true then sometimes I too would get 16 in a run. That's never happened.

ive now gotten 18 inks as drops over the 3 weeks that its been available on PC (i have 30 inks in total, 12 of which were from the quests)

farming inks does nothing, i could be harvesting nodes for an hour in bleakrock and maybe see 1 ink, drop rate from enemies is too low to bother with either

at this point though, ive learned all the scripts on my main, and have scribed all of the skills at least once for achievements (the only scribing achievement i have left is the one to acquire ink)

so at this point im heavily debating if i should just sell my inks because the rate im getting them, the system is still unseable (i have 6 inks available to scribe with which is worth 2 skills at most, and i have 10 other characters that i would like to utilize the system with)

I recommend submitting a bug report. That’s what I’ve started doing. I have a hard time believing the drop rates we’re seeing are intended, because it’s beyond ridiculous. I’ve only gotten two ink since the end of the most recent ESO plus trial. Ink Accumulator achievement is currently at 37/50. Meanwhile, you’ve got people in these forums boasting about having “hundreds” of ink at this point and selling them for ridiculous amounts. Something isn’t adding up.

May I ask how you farm Ink?

By farming starter zones in speed running gear. In other words: stop implying that those of us who have been cursed with bad RNG don’t know what we’re doing. It’s insulting.

The one thing I do that is different is I rotate zones every 15-30 minutes. I don't know if it helps, but over time I have farmed a lot of ink.

I don't use speed gear, just wild Hunt.

that probably makes a big difference honestly, if i recall right its theorized that even something as changing zones can impact your random "seed" that you get when you load in

Yeah I've just started trying this. I'll see if it makes a difference. I really hope so.

i wish i could get ink like that

based on my past history, im maybe getting 1 ink drop in a 45-60 min node farming session, and this happened every time i did this for a week

because of that ive stopped trying to farm nodes because it wasnt fun and i wasnt getting ink, and playing normally im getting just no ink whatsoever (im at 2 ink drops in 12 days right now)

I only get one drop on average for 40-60 minutes of intense farming. It doesn't vary by very much.

I will not buy ink I will let scribing go first.

Ok that sucks!

But not all my farm runs yield this much Ink sometimes i get 1-2 ink for 1 hour farm, a few days ago I got 0 Ink 2 days in a row even tho I farmed this same spot for 1 hour.

I dont farm every day but I had a dry spell for several farm runs, I almost thought they might had nerfed this specifik farm route lol.
