Chryos✭✭✭✭i hate the idea of bound or no drop items and gold, because it does take away from the game. The only solution I can see is to hire fulltime bot hunters that run around and ban bot accounts and do nothing but deal with bots all day and all night. Eventually, botters will decide its not worth their time.

Why do you hate the idea of bound items. The trick with crafting that so many people fail to get is that you shouldn't make any gear above green level until the later VR levels, you will waste your tempers! I dis everything on multiple characters, my BS is level 45 and has about 350 Green tempers, 80 blue tempers and about 26 Yellow. My enchanter is not quite as wealth but she's made some enchants for my other characters.
My woodworker/clothier is even better place at level 12 with about 400 of each green, about 100 blues and 10 or so yellows. If you save them until you need them then you would never need to purchase them. They could make them bought from vendors for the credits I described in my earlier post. Gold in MMOs is just a bad idea if it can be traded or its value is great as in buying motifs/tempers and horses, it just invites gold sellers to exploit the game.

Now don't get me wrong, I am all for getting rid of the gold sellers and all, but ffs I want the game to still be fun when they are gone.
This knee jerk responses to the bots is really starting to ruin the game far more then the bots. They nerfed the boss drops so now get less blue items, nerfed the loot containers so get less mats I need, and who knows what else is next...
The part that gets me is that all or most MMOs do this type of crap, not because of researched back analysis but to appease the knee jerk type demands that a vocal minority scream for. Instead of reading these forums, they really should have in-game player polls or something.
The bottom line is as long as player A can get an item and player B can get that item from Player A, there will always be gold sellers. Player based economies always suck.
Zenimax should get rid of player sales, turn everything into NPC based trades, and make gold / motifs / legendary items and exp flow like a river up to the current max: VR10. Then add a second tier of loot and gear that is either quest based & exclusive currency based system where you 'earn' the gear instead of bought it from the market.
Zenimax is trying their best to get rid of the gold sellers, within a business model. its clear as day to anyone who works corporate business / professional software development / IT. Players forget there is international laws and public relation issues that have to be considered before taking some actions.
Unfortunately the actions so far is making the game less worth playing so that when they do get that last bot, no real players will be left to care.0 -
ShintaiDK✭✭✭Main quest progress have stopped botters and spammers hard to reach VR zones. So something similar just need to be done at lower levels.

I'm not talking of the bots, give them hell but saying all of a demographic is guilty and should be IP banned like in the other post, will get this one locked also but if you feel you need to then do so, its not my place to police the forums.0 -
I'm not for level locking travel to areas but I am for level locking quests. No way should a level 3 be able to do quests in coldharbour. I was a person who would travel a zone ahead to get mats so I don't want to take that away from others who want to do the same to level up smithing. So if we level lock questing that should help with the quest bots. Now there are two other types I've seen and that's the mob grind ones and mat farming ones. For the mat farming ones, maybe make harvesting a node interactive like the chests are. Say a screen pops up and a target turns red and u click it (simulates swinging the pick axe or wood axe) and when u get two correct hits u get the node and if u miss twice or whatever u can't get it. Not sure how to fix the mob going junk though1

If so you're telling me a guy who was playing in beta and doing YouTube/Streams about the game didn't see all the flaws he mentioned in his review/rant about the game before it was released? (if you answer this please @ tag me so I know there is one, this thread will be lost within a day.)
However on to topic, changing the game to be free and open was fine, just not two weeks before launch, I gave ZOS criticism for it then and I will continue to do so now. You broke your strory progression, had to emergency record new VO for the Prophet with an entirely different voice actor.@Turelus - EU PC Megaserver
