ZOS, if you want people to construct more houses for others to tour...

...let us store furniture in the craft bag or give us a furniture bag. Trying to remember what we have in our warehouses is a chore. Experimenting is a chore. Those houses would also be freed up to build in.

Alternatively, I'd like if they'd add something like Inventory Insight to the basegame/consoles, with the additional ability to pull items from another character's inventory. That said, that could be very, very complicated on the backend or something.

I also want the option to remove existing buildings.

And to be able to upgrade 600 slot homes to 700 for PC players.

So you would like more bare places, like Coldharbour Surreal, Moon Sugar Meadow, and so on?

They don't want people to tour just for the hell of it, but because seeing what's possible sells more houses and more furnishings. It's the zos home channel.

Exactly, making people encounter things they don't have, but can buy with money, is like the first commandment of micro transactions. Activision (which now has the same owner as ZOS) even patented a matchmaking system that matches you with those players who have things they want to sell to you. Matchmaking becomes a tool of advertising.

This is probably also why they won't solve the issue in the card game where anyone new to it is made to play against decks they don't have access to, greatly increasing the barrier to entry. The first commandment wins over good game design in the boardroom.

I would like to remove existing buildings.

Specifically Antiquarian, Forgemaster Falls, Willowpond, & Seabloom homes.

With the OPTION to remove buildings, now every home could be a potential blank slate like Moon Sugar Meadow.

Q: We’d like to be able to get empty plots of existing player houses, or the ability to “remove” the house from the plot. Is that something you might consider?
A: Interesting suggestion! Historically, the empty plots aren’t nearly as popular as the houses; that said, we will pass this suggestion along to the Housing team for consideration. Due to how we build out the housing spaces, it is unfortunately not as simple as just “removing” the house from an existing space. Even existing player housing spaces would require additional world building where the house is/was.

    zos knows ^
though don't expect it to happen anytime soon, if at all.

That's the cynical view. I think when people see the good houses, they may also realize the creativity of those people is on another level, throw in the towel, and just enjoy. I am working on one and it is seriously hard.

There is a house on PC EU I'm thinking of, one of the very best, that uses an abundance of cheap clockwork plates. I ain't telling you what it is, unless you'd like to hazard a guess :). Oh heck. It's one of the train houses. Certainly by volume you don't need to use expensive materials. It has some crown store snowmen in it, but those weren't essential to the concept.

Maybe - actually no doubt - ZOS are banking on ignorance. If you don't know where to get stuff in game, the ZOS housing crown store is very misleading and hugely expensive. New housing enthusiasts be warned! Unless you're looking at a guild hall with all mundus stones and trial dummies, you don't need to use crowns. Being an endgame player with lots of gold and a history of buying from the luxury weekend vendor, as well as digging up antiquities, certainly helps. Mainly, though, you need knowledge, creativity, and time. Lots of time.
