my rates are similar to yours, but the last time I farmed there, I got 15 in just over an hour of farming.
Then RNG is on your side because I can get an ink once every hour.

I hit 100 nodes every 7-8 minutes. That's why I have a lot of ink.1 -

Just doing normal activiites, I have over 100 ink since release. Some from mobs, some from bosses, some from randomly harvested nodes. It is NOT hard to get, and the demand (how many scribed skills do you want to create?) is really not that high.

RexyCat✭✭✭✭I didn't buy Gold Road, so when I'm in starter areas I'm just farming for ordinary, everyday mats.
That gets a bit frustrating when you overpowered superheroes are all bolt-escaping all over the place to ensure that you get to the node first.
If you haven't even bought Gold Road, how are you even unlocking Scribing? You will need to have done quest line that unlock Scribing as you read more about here:

Until then you can not farm any Ink as you will need to have started at least one of those doors in Scholarium (the place where you have Scribing altar where you make use Grimoire and other features to change create and change skill).0 -

VvwvenomwvV✭✭✭✭Harvesting Ink is just like any other resource, you have to farm it, or buy it. It's either time or gold. I've tried farming it all over the game. I like certain areas better for farming than other areas. I just wanted to share whats helped me, and hopefully, will help others.1 -

I have good runs and bad runs. One day I'll get 3 ink in an hour (but I got Aetherial dust that run which I've only gotten 2 from nodes ever in 6 years) and other times I'll get 10-15 in an hour.2 -

I've rarely gotten more than one in an hour. Last night after 2 hours I had none. Something is broken and it's not a skill issue.

There are two "cooldown" for nodes, one when you farm a node and the time until it respawn and the second is when there is nobody that have interacted with a node for some time and game make a node vanish and respawn. You can see that sometimes happen if you look at nodes and have not interacted with it that it will disappear and be replaced with another type item then before, like plant being replaced with another plant or water (alchemy nodes). For Runes it will have chance to change between normal rune node and Psijic portal etc.0 -

i have my main house (grand topal hideaway) listed in the housing tours, it has multiple target dummies, scribing altar, and grandmaster stations (in progress being filled out), as well as almost every antiquity furnishing on display to preview them

Thai is pretty much it. I get 10-12 ink a day, just doing my normal stuff. No farming. I do kill a lot of things, though.
I do have a place that seems to favour ink drops due to sheer quantity of kills, but I am not stupid enough to post it on forums, so it can be nerfed.5 -

If Zos would ever actually add an In Game Reporting Option then I would perhaps deign to start reporting them again. But as it is now, the process of reporting them from a console is just more annoying than it needs to be.

from what ive seen it varies person to person how rare ink is
some people seem to be raining in ink, or are basically acting like bot farmers and harvesting nodes, i saw at least 1 person report that they spent 50 hours farming nodes to get to 500 inks, that would be an avg of 10 inks per hour, and from my personal experience im lucky to get even 1 drop of ink a day from any source, ive done sessions of 30-60 min of nothing but node harvesting and still gotten 0-1 inks
i also saw someone else post statistics of harvesting ~1000 nodes, their rate of nirn was like ~2.25% and the rate of ink was about 0.5% (which would match your estimate of being 5x rarer than nirn)plays PC/NA

Exactly my experience. Running in speed gear, hitting every node I come across, and avoiding fights (whatever that nodes/hr works out to), sometimes I get 12-15 in an hour, and sometimes I get nothing. Takes the fun out it for me.0 -

I’m on PS NA and the last few times I have been to Khenarthi’s Roost all the nodes had a queue of 2-3 bots per node.
It’s the worst I’ve even seen it there.

✭✭I find the bots are an inconvenience that I just avoid. Although I harvest all nodes I appreciate the jewelry one the most as that is a resource I use the most. Bots make getting jewelry nodes very difficult.
I just go somewhere else.
