Hello.

I've been trying to farm Luminous Ink all over the game, but there is one area that I believe is the BEST in the game! I'll post a video on it. I hope you enjoy.

Ok and now everyone will flood there and make it worthless to farm.

I've gotten ink out of Water but it is the pure water nodes out of a stream or other body of water but I haven't got one from a container or skin yet.
I get the most out of nodes folks seem to skip like runes or water but I've gotten ink from all of the alchemy nodes types including Land plant, Mushroom plant, water plant,. I've gotten them from Clothing Nodes, Blacksmithing nodes, Jewelry nodes and Enchanting nodes. I've not gotten one from what I call leather nodes (killing predators).

I'm not gonna share my routes ;) But many know them already. I started to farm for these after completing the quests (4 or 5 days ago) and I've made one each of the Grimoires and I sit with 50 in the bag. I tend to get 6 to 10 a farming session (about an hour of farming).

I have all of the crafter/farming perks taken and I use the wild hunt ring for a bit of a speed boost.

Yeah, the starter zones are faster since they have a higher density of nodes. It's all of them: Betnikh, Stros M'kai, Kenarthi's Roost, Bleakrock Isle, Bal Foyen.

I've gotten them from a Water Skin (I got two from one due to Champion Points perk), but haven't gotten one from the Pure Water nodes yet.

I've also gotten them from urns and Dwemer pots. I got a few from normal mob kills, but not many. Nearly all of them are from nodes or containers.

Every console player: here is the route I'm getting tons of ink on. PC player: 20 people in the zone farming every node already. You do realize that PC population is so much bigger hat we don't have a luxury of farming routes and competition for each node is much higher. On PC NA at least you can firm in off hours, while PC EU does not even have off hours due to the nature of their population being from so many different time zones.

Yeah, I farm starter areas like Betnikh and still only average around four ink per hour, if I’m lucky. Usually it’s only one or two. Sometimes nothing. Drop rate feels bugged. I’m certainly not making millions off this system, but good for those of you with good luck, I guess.

Starter zones have higher respawn rate of nodes, so it isn't just how close those nodes are, but also faster to get a node to respawn.

I didn't buy Gold Road, so when I'm in starter areas I'm just farming for ordinary, everyday mats.

That gets a bit frustrating when you overpowered superheroes are all bolt-escaping all over the place to ensure that you get to the node first.

that would be nice to see lol, i would actually appreciate that lol

considering how freaking rare ink is for me

ive already attempted the node farming in multiple zones, and i maybe get 1 drop of ink per hour of farming, regardless if its craglorn, starter zones, etc

i have my main house (grand topal hideaway) listed in the housing tours, it has multiple target dummies, scribing altar, and grandmaster stations (in progress being filled out), as well as almost every antiquity furnishing on display to preview them

No, that is just your perception and how YOU regard other players. I NEVER had issues with farming nirncrux, even before scribing being introduced. The only issue I had is when there are farm bots around that deprive the entire population from access to ressources because they managed to farm it empty. Normal farming players never had been an issue because they hardly succeed in farming everything completely empty.

I guess you never experienced the lag that makes it look like you are raising the axe or pick to farm the node and have another player run up and take it right in front of you.

How am I supposed to view that? Just because it hasn’t happened to you doesn’t mean it is not a fact.

While I loathe bots, I'd rather compete against a bot than a player over resource nodes. At least bots are easy to get ahead of and just farm one step ahead at a casual pace. If it's other players, then ya gotta gear/buff up and sprint to each node in a battle to get there first. =D

Craglorn was created as an entirely different zone(s) to the othe PvE zones, you know that already. PvP zones are where other players are competitors. Stay there and please keep your behavior respectful in PvE zones.

Bal Foyen is a starter zone and doesn't need overpowered players putting lower-level players at a disadvantage.

I'm sure the prices for Ink will come down as more Ink becomes available over time. Sell it early to capitalize on profits. I'm sure tho, it will hold a modest value for a long time to come.

The worst is the three two wasps guarding the Wood node by the bridge. The third has been stuck behind the Rock wall for years now and if you kill the other two you will be trapped in combat until you gain distance from the spot allowing others to take close by nodes right out from under you.

Yes the Wasp is still there, after you kill the other two you can see its wings pop through the rock trying to get you if you wait around a bit.

For those that haven't been around long enough to know, Upper Craglorn was the only place you could get Nirncrux, Nirncrux wasn't added to lower Crag until later. When Craglorn was first introduced it was done so in two parts and the upper section wasn't available at first. I think lower was VR12 and upper was VR14.

Edit: now that I think about this, this might have been a beta thing before it went live (the upper and lower thing) It has been 10+ years ago.

I learned my routes for enchanting nodes initially because Kuta was so hard to come by.

Well, while you guys are farming Bal Foyen et al, you aren't in Cyrodiil trying to PvP. Every zone I have been to in the past 24 hours is devoid of anything useful. There are a few ore nodes floating around, milked and unwanted. There are now no mats for regular farmers to collect, ultimately you will all have no requirement to buy mats and players farming mats for a living will be a thing of the past.

This whole debate started because players couldn't get enough Ink to enable the scribing system (I don't have It). But thanks for reminding us, that this is now about PvP players funding their play style instead. So, i doubt anything will change soon. the drop rate will remain the same and the Cyrodiil complaints will die off.

Congratulations on your promotion from 'PvP God' to 'Mat farmer'. But as you say: 'it's kinda fun to watch 'em burn'...

My behavior? I just move along at normal speed, no speed bonuses, no special gear, and casually farm nodes. It is something I like to do to relax, enjoying the scenery. I don’t even see these players zoom in out of nowhere and take the nodes in front of me.

The nodes are shared so there is competition to be the first to get them. Chests are shared so there may be competition there too. Containers are instanced so that is the only place where there is no competition.

    Just stating facts, not behavior.
