I have been asking for this since housing was introduced. They already have the ability to do it (craft bag).

Is Matt Firor an eldritch being perhaps? It would explain some things, but in that case him.
    Just kidding, he's cool.

Maybe try Sheogorath though, then the funishing bag might come with a weird limit in the zos style - or cost a kidney and your firstborn.

They explained the issue was the sheer volume of different furniture items, complicated by the bound vs unbound variations.

I would love a crafting bag for furniture as it would free up several of my homes I am using simply as warehouses. And while they claim we are getting housing improvements later this year, I am unsure if the bag is going to be it.

Lord of the Rings Online has these items that hold items. I forget what they're called but its basically a box that holds a ton of items. It can be customized (on dev side) to furniture, instruments, and a bunch of other versions.
So you'd open your inventory, its a little treasure chest icon in there, you double click it and theres 50-100-200 etc slots to use, for a specific type of thing.

Could add something like that in here, little void-bags or something.

They sort of do that already in eso with those chests you can place in homes. Those are considered the same as your bank, so you can place furniture directly from them as if you are placing them from your bank.

the guilds im in, the guild houses have so many. I only have one, i don't do many writs (fairly noob still) or anything that provides currency to buy them and they're just too expensive to buy with crowns.

ZoS Deities, will you please add a craftable-storage bag & a craftable storage crate/trunk with various styles/functions?
Furniture, Recipes, Dyes, Instruments (please add music system), armor & weapons & jewelry, potions & food, trinkets & treasures and things we find and want to keep so a sort of sentimental-box-bag thing.

And for the financial side, you-devs could implement prettier-sparklier-crownstore only versions. They won't hold more (to be fair to the current storage) but they would just look different and unique, matching the aesthetic and theme of what they hold.
Mirrored cabinets, void bags, Trunks and chests that match zones etc where you'd find the recipes.

Crown store ones could be like floating orbs, boxes / trunks made out of crystals, so on and so on.

cool, and what do you do when they fill up with 0.003% of your total furnishings?

that is the problem right there. There will never be enough space to store things. We ask for 1000 more slots and we get them. We then fill them up and want/need 1000 more. I have homes that look like this:
    Roxz0ee.jpg
or worse and more cluttered and would take full advantage of a storage area for furniture. That said I still would end up with houses that look like that.
I would like to see a crate that holds maybe 200 pieces of furniture. Something that is accessible from all our homes. So when decorating we could have access to those 200 items. If it has space available we could stick furniture we are removing from the home we are decorating in it then dump it is a storage home later.
and then the parrot said, "must be the water mines green too."

It could be like a chest that you put in your house, and you can then put as many furnishings as you want in it. Any house that has the chest placed in it, you can place the items in your house from it directly using the interface, *AND* those with decorator permission can place those items as well. No more wasting houses as furnishing storage mules!

    Additional Amazing Benefits:
    - More spending at furnishing vendors (gold sink)
    - More purchasing crown furnishing packs ($$$ cash money $$$)

At a guess, I'd say that the problem is buying or making more furniture than you need.
Providing a 'furniture bag' won't change that.

I'd like to be able to decon all the furniture that I made that never sold, just to see how disappointed I'd be at how little I'd get back from the process.

Every time I see these requests I have to wonder, "Am I the weird one?"

When it comes to furnishings, I rarely ever seem to have storage issues outside of Antiquities which all sit in a few of the provided storage chests.

Am I the odd one for not overbuying/overproducing furniture and only buying/making what I need/use?

Now, when it comes to a "storage bag" I'd find useful, a Crown Store bag for all the pots/poisons/riding lessons would be ideal for a player like me.

There are other uses besides cleaning up - having ALL of your furnishings in one place so you can preview them in the house that you're furnishing - that's a huge plus.

I produce everything beforehand and like to have a selection at hand (or more precisely: cluttering my bank and character inventory...) to test all kind of different combinations.

This would have no use for me at all. Riding lessons I use immediately. Each of my characters has 1 stack of tri-potions and 2 stacks of poison attached to their weapon slots. They last for a while. Until they run out of it, there will be enough to refill through the daily login rewards. There's no need to store big amounts of them.

Something I just thought of - what if the number of crafting chest/bag slots was dependent on the total number of available traditional furnishing slots among all owned houses? It could be an equal number, or X2 or whatever. But say you have 2000 total available traditional furnishing slots, then your craft chest/bag would have room for 2000 stacks of furnishings. Want to increase the number of slots? Buy more houses!

I feel like furnishing storage issues would be mitigated if we could search and pull furnishings from other houses and characters. I guess I can also see that being difficult to code—Inventory Insight shows your accountwide items on PC, but not without bugs that could really matter if the system also moved items.

That said, I have room in my bank and storage coffers for most of the items I need. Always helps to declutter. Delete those burnt laurel branches! There are lots more lol
