Bow-based class for a Bosmer?

KestrelFive
Returning to the game and really want to start fresh with a Bosmer bow-build that fits the "speedy archer" vibe, leaning the Bosmer's movement speed passive. Sorcerer, Warden, and Nightblade all seem to lean into the speedy, ranged aspects of a bow build. Do you have any recommendations within these three, or maybe one of the other classes?

Probably nightblade with its bow proc for full bow roleplay.

It depeds a bit on how you see your character. For me that was more like a ranger: A nature minded, bow wielding person with a big pet to assist him, so naturally warden was my first choice and I don't regret it.
And so the Elder Scrolls foretold. You will be shy, and I will be bold.

I love my Bosmer Bow/Bow Stamden!

Dots on back bar, spammables on front bar,and Bird of Prey (speed boost and dps buff) on both make for a quick speedy archer with versatility.

Bow isn't endgame but Bowsorc and Bowden are both a lot of fun to play.

Bow can absolutely be endgame. There are 139k+ parses out there with bow/bow builds, and it performs well in content (vAS, Chimera, etc.).

I made myself a Bosmer Bow/Bow StamSorc. Why?
    • Everyone and their mother chooses Warden
    • Sorc has the better spammable (I hate the Warden's Cliff Racers)
    • Not every Bosmer is a meat chugging tree lover, some are downright normal
    • Sorcerer has the better tool kit for ranged combat, especially the passive healing stands out.
    • Some of the most powerful abilities of the warden force you into melee range or to cast skills with a Destro Staff. I consider that incompatible with Bows.

If anyone here says: OH! But, PVP! I swear I'll ...

Thank you for the valuable input and respectfully recommend to discuss that aspect of ESO on the PVP forum.

I chose Bosmer NB for one of my first characters for my image of a stealthy ranger type using bow and daggers. To me, the Warden abilities seem more magic-based while many of the assassination abilities felt like a good fit with dual-wield daggers.

I’ve always enjoyed it, although since Grim Focus got ruined last year, it no longer fits the stealthy ranger of the forest theme so I dropped the skill rather than look like an irradiated vampire thing.

It may not be meta, but I had a stamDK that used a bow. There was nice synergy with the DK's poison related passives. Her snipe was really nasty.

i have my main house (grand topal hideaway) listed in the housing tours, it has multiple target dummies, scribing altar, and grandmaster stations (in progress being filled out), as well as almost every antiquity furnishing on display to preview them

If you like the thought of using other ranged "martial" weapons, Templar gives you access to javelins/spears, and Fighters Guild gives you access to a crossbow. The Burning Light passive procs on any damage you deal, so you could focus on Bow abilities and get a damage boost regardless of whether you use Templar's class abilities.

But, I'd think Nightblade or Warden would be the more thematically appropriate "bow" classes, whether you prefer the "assassin" archetype or the "hunter" archetype.

Please give us Werewolf Skill Styles (for customizing our fur color), Grimoires/Scribing skills (to fill in the holes in our builds), and Companions (to transform with).

What I like with my bosmer bowsorc, aside from being so short and cute 😍 is Ember compliments the fight really well, she uses the sorc skills I don't use and between us we do a full out sorc attack. And she can time the lightning strike perfectly.

Some of the bows are wonderfully designed. Real pleasure to wear.

Bow/Bow is better served usiing Lethal Arrow as the spammable. But <shrug> to each his own. :)

What sets do you all recommend for a bow/bow build?

I had never really thought to do this, but I have a stamsorc Bosmer and now I want to try it out.

Leviathan is like Mother's Sorrow, but for stamina. Then maybe Order's Wrath to go with it. Not sure what monster sets work, so maybe arena bows like Maelstrom and/or Master's?
