Over a decade of clean play and support - Auto bans?

So, my household is a strong ESO household. We speak so highly of the game and encourage people to play, my wife plays, my mom plays, and I have multiple accounts to support and also manage a large guild.

Completely above board, zero third party abuse, always a paying player when I play. And even have left my sub running for over a year during a break lol.

Yet one of my accounts randomly got banned today? "travelingmeowchant" and I unfortunately got to see how Zos/Bethesda handles their customers. It automatically bans all access to them and any means to contact them or feel heard.

If I didnt have another account, that other one would just sit there in silence. Banned, subscription cut off, game time ruined. And not even able to log in to the support site to report the failure.

I also see that this is not uncommon, yet its allowed to keep happening. Some players seem to experience this over and over, the stress and sadness of potentially losing a ton of effort and happiness. From a thing you are paying for to enjoy. Thats so messed up.

Do I need to fear this happening randomly to the rest of my family? My main account? Like... what is it that im supposed to do?

Losing the daily login bonus on that account, event crate chance, loads of gold as the main purpose of my alts is trading related, I could end up kicked from my high end trading guilds depending on how long it takes to resolve, I cant do my daily writs on the account which also makes me a lose a ton of gold.

No responses since last night on the "banned" email. Nor here now.

@ZOS_Kevin or @ZOS_Bill would you be kind enough to stop in and help the OP?

In the meantime, there are instructions for appealing a ban even if you cannot log into the support site here: https://help.elderscrollsonline.com/#en/answer/8540

I agree they seem to have a bad system for dealing with these bans and equally bad communication at times, and I hope it gets resolved quickly for you.

    I appreciate you friend.

Yes, and ive seen the same guy who I have reported previously. Trying to do RMT trading and potentially even scamming people if they fall for it, and he never seems to go away. Meanwhile im totally clean and just playing their game a ton and get banned lol. I dont get it at all.

They seem to really be targeting crown traders, perhaps the large sums of gold? One of the people I had been trading with disappeared recently and I know I had traded with you at least once. Hopefully they make things right with anyone caught up incorrectly, and event going on and all.

It might be safer to hold off on buying/selling crowns until the dust settles.

Thats the weird thing too, the account that got banned cant even gift yet. It is an alt I only use for selling more on the trade post, crafting writs and thats it.

My main ive done legal crown trades on is fine, though.... Now I do have anxiety about them messing up and banning that too. Especially since I have no clue what triggered the failure for my alt account. D:

This other player that you've reported multiple times, are they aware that you reported them? Have you mentioned that in the game-- zone chat, guild chat, etc.-- and it's possible someone saw and told the other player (if you didn't tell them outright)? I'm wondering if they reported you in turn as retaliation or something.

I am not 100% sure, but I would assume not. I dont tend to boast about reporting people, especially for things like cheating. Because I dont want them to start hiding the behavior before its seen.

But also, because to reiterate. This is an alt account. Like I really just sit in stonefalls and have it doing writs and posting auctions 99% of the time.

The ban also says its for cheating or exploiting, but gives ZERO additional info as to what kind Zos is claiming I engaged in by selling items in stonefalls lol.

I have no clue how to do so, since the account which is banned cannot access anything anymore.

All I have is the number from the email where I was told my account was perma banned

Is there anything else I can do to speed up this process? Any info I can provide? It really sucks being punished for just paying for and playing the game.

I even called my bank to make sure nothing weird happened with a failed charge or charge back, but they say everything looks totally normal on their end.

It seems that some official personnel still pay attention to the banned accounts. Could you please also pay attention to my account? How is my progress?

I got an email which claimed my account was reinstated, yet it still just says im perma banned when I try to log into the site or the game.

It claims to have been resolved over 6 hours ago as well.

So I am still locked out, but have a ticket which claims im not. And it didnt say anything about remedy compensation. Like, am I at minimum going to get my daily login rewards ive missed? My value of my daily writs? Could I get help and some more detail into whats going on?

    Also what caused it?
