Debilitate nerf, why?

For Nightblade, with the Debilitate morph of Cripple:

On live, the damage from overcharged applying each tick makes up about 1/3 of the ability's overall damage. The changes made in pts double the damage of overcharged but now it applies at a 15% rate rather than each tick, this reduces the overall damage of the ability by aboooout 22%?

Why not just reduce the DoT damage by the amount overcharged was buffed while keeping the always applies overcharged aspect of the ability so that the resulting damage is equal to live?????

Overcharged now give you instant mana on application. It's not just damage.

    Thanks for pointing that out.

Then it needs an increase to the cast cost as well to account for that extra magicka sustain.

Well, if u count 100% bonus from CP it has 30% chance to apply status effect. With charged off hand it gets to 47% or something like that. So overall damage should be the same with some extra sustain on top.

I thought cp gave 30%. It's staff that gives 100%, but I can't drop bow for staff. Also I can't drop sharpened for charged....

Nah it's nerfed. Having to nerf the rest of my build to make up for it...that don't fly hahaha.

It's not like the OP NB builds use this either, so we can't argue that the nerf is justified :/

Ah right staff gives 100% while cp gives 60% (2 stages, 30% each). My bad. So its around 40% chance to apply status effect with those buffs which will be a nerf.
Well not much u can do about it. Maybe they will change it in later PTS cycles.

I hope they do. This adjustment to account for the status effect changes is just clunky, and I hope they realize that and make normal changes instead....

I mean this thread is a great example…

ZOS_devs, why nerf important class dots in pve on the WEAKER classes like necro and nightblade, and not give them enough in their toolkit to pack a proper punch in high end PVE..

Meanwhile I’m still not even sure the mostly up 5% netch bonus does much for the dd mag and stam wardens, given how far behind the stam warden lagged. I REFUSE to equip an ice staff on my stamina warden by the way… so that ice passive might want to be adjusted to be fair to stamdens

And all this… while continuing to allow/boost dragonknight and Arcanist OP, flexible, varied damage dealers, with the many dots, or ridiculously overpowered book beam

[snip] Well ok if the developers insist… but it means I am unable to aim to challenge myself at the top hm group stuff on any class dd of my choice because some are more favoured than others! Namely stamina arcanists and magicka dragonknights!

This game is beautiful but this really stumps/sours the gameplay. It’s not play how you want at all, I’m sorry to say. We are forced to break lore or preference (ie never use mag arcanist for example) in high end content, in order to be considered optimal to play.

Please. If you read this… just balance the classes already
