Hope you guys are having a fantastic day! I was wondering why it was decided that luminous inks would not drop from crafting surveys, which while tied to a crafting reward, technically ARE resource nodes. Could help the drop rate issue quite a bit if this was changed and I wanted to make this poll to give y'all an idea about how many people in the community would prefer this. Thanks

As a replacement for resource nodes they would therefore be a useless way of getting ink, but as an additional source they would be ok except that the drop rate would doubtless mean people would hardly ever get any from surveys.0 -

Never stated they'd replace resource nodes as a source... Simply said since they are resources, technically it'd be nice if they dropped them as well.

✭✭✭✭✭NoI don't see any issue with the drop rate. It's not exclusive to resource nodes as you can also get the ink from mob drops and backpacks as well.
After the initial hoopla settles to a normal calm again, and wasting ink on experimentation ends, everybody will realize that you really don't need a lot of ink anyway. Ink isn't needed to grind out any skill leveling, and once a character has scribed what will eventually land on their hotbar, you'll rarely need it again.
Ink is already starting to pile up on the Traders, and it won't be long until the price drops to an acceptable norm. If you increase the droprate, the ink will become pretty much worthless.

I have gotten probably 10% or more of my ink from PvP zones. Cyrodiil is actually quite node laden and there are many NPCs to kill. IC is also quite NPC heavy as well. There are avenues for people in these zones to get ink.Antiquities Addict2 -

✭YesI wish they would drop from surveys, daily quests, be able to be crafted with a provisioning or alchemy recipe, be included in random dungeon rewards, etc., and I say that as someone who has plenty of ink. It should be a fun system to experiment with, not a decision that you have to spend time worrying if what you are doing is going to cost you multiple hours of farming.1 -

I would think your answer would be yes based on your description lol! I think it's a "duh" thing regarding a higher drop chance & adding even more sources, but being that our 2 only sources are currently resources and killing monsters, I found it odd that surveys didn't count considering it's collecting resources. oldbobdude✭✭✭✭✭NoI don’t think that would fix the problem. If the drop rate is too low then just adding a new source for a poor drop rate wouldn’t do it. I personally haven’t done the quest lines for scribing so no personal knowledge. But from what I’ve read on forum the actual rate (daily limits, chance for drop) should be adjusted.0

✭YesI feel like every "no" I've seen thus far has been a "no, we want it from these other sources," but it's not a no to the question I asked, which is to add inks to the loot table of surveys (i.e. resource gathering).
I too would like inks in the daily login rewards; rewards for the worthy; as a daily reward for your daily RND, TOT or BGs; as a hireling correspondence; as a daily writ reward.

✭✭✭✭✭I'm not sure I have either a yes or no opinion. It would depend on how it's implemented - if it gets put into survey drops at the expense of housing mats, then probably no. If in addition to them, then probably yes.

✭✭✭✭✭This is one of those depends type of question. ZoS is looking at the drops to see if there needs to be an adjustment. If they think there needs to be an adjustment for drop rates I would rather they go with higher percentages from the already existing sources instead of leaving those the same and adding surveys.
If they decide the rate is fine then adding ink to surveys would mean lowering the drop rate from other sources to keep the numbers where they want. For me this scenario would be something I don't want.
Only way I would want ink added to surveys is if it had no impact at all on existing resources for ink. Being honest I think this is a problem that will fix itself in a couple of months. The demand will go down as players settle on a build and we will see prices go down in guild stores. Ink is a new commodity so of course there will be high demand and low supply at the start. Just like most other things eventually supply will catch up with demand.and then the parrot said, "must be the water mines green too."1 -

You have millions of downloads for addons that make the process of doing writs easier.
To me, that suggests that boatloads of people are doing them that don't actually enjoy it because the rewards are too good to miss.
When I do the daily crafting writs, I'm not doing them because it's fun. I'm doing them because I want the rewards.
