Did you enjoy the Gold Road Chapter?

    Yes
Really liked it so far, I love the autumn vibe and scribing. Atmosphere is top notch, and I liked most of the quest writing. Really liked the mirror daedra design too actually.

The only thing I dislike is that the ink drop rate is much less than it should be, especially with the bug early on. It will probably sort itself sooner rather than later, but still I think it would have been much better if the ink was super common, so people could go wild right away.

Hence I am waiting a bit with setting up scribing stuff for my alts (while having like a million ideas), since I am not gonna pay through my nose for ink, and neither do I want to farm for hours. Nothing wrong with a bit of farming to get stuff, but I don't want to spend the majority of my game time on it.

The cast is a bit of a mixed bag for me, I looooove all of the luminaries and Naliah, very enjoyable characters. But I find Leramil dreadfully dry, and I can't take anyone with that sidesweep haircut seriously, especially not if the character is supposed to be a scholar. Beragon is not too interesting either, though at least he's not as annoying as his cartoon sister "oh my acorns hihi" Eveli.

In comparison, High Isle for example was fantastic in terms of companions with Sir Stefan, Laurel, Ryvana, Arabelle, the maormer pirate woman, all being varied, believable and entertaining (except that dreadful.comic relief khajiit).

Though one thing I found strange is that (as far as I've seen) Gold Road introduced just one new armour motif, Shardborn, and it's not even Imperial themed. Now I have nothing with Imperials myself so it didn't bother me much, but I expected to see at least one local style to enhance the fashion scrolls experience.

Overall though I think it's a solid expansion, not my favourite (High Isle can't be topped) but definitely amongst them.

I wouldn't know. All I have done is try to get all my scripts and inks. And now... there is the Zeal of Zenithar event on...

Come back in December and I may have an answer.

    Obligatory other option.

Just started it yesterday on console. Haven’t even started the scribing quest yet.

I would say only answer this poll once you've completed it then.

The poll is now. When I get around to completing the quest this thread will be old.

This is a reminder to both PC users and ZOS that the time-honored tradition of waiting to start an event until PC players get a chance to play the new content is detrimental to console players.

We just got the new content, then 2 days later the Zenithar event starts. I have 3 dailies in West Weald and need to get my tickets. When do I have time for the scribing quest before the mount offer is over, or any other quests? The only reason I have even got started is because the chapter launch has emptied Cyrodiil Gray Host campaign and now my faction has less than 1 bar during prime time.

Yeah. So okay I'm on PC. HOWEVER - I don't do zone MQs until later (and sometimes - never.... as in nothing at all with anything that has undead as the major zone plot point - which is pretty much the entirety of DC zones, as well as Greymoor/Western Skyrim.... I don't DO undead in this or any other game). In any case, Gold Road's MQ will wait until I really have time to mess with it - probably late fall/early winter.

After the posts about the scribing questline, I did opt to do it fully on my oldest account main. The rest of them will pick it up (at least through the Indrik and Netch) in the next few weeks. That's the extent of my interaction with Gold Road (yes - I paid for the preorder four times) for a while.

I hope you can get everything you want to do done before anything else happens!
