Class outfit auras don't count hidden helmets or weapons

I tried this on PTS and in the Outfit Station on Live. For the aura that appears around you when you equip five pieces of a class set's outfit style, it looks like the aura won't apply if you use a weapon to reach five class outfit slots, or if you hide the corresponding head piece which would bring your total to less than 5. I can't help but wonder why this is the case since you are still equipping class set styles. I was hoping to use the auras on some of my characters, but it was already a stretch to make their outfits accommodate the class styles. Having the aura not apply if a helmet is hidden, nor having weapons apply it, makes it hard for me to want the styles.

It also goes without being said that it would be nice if characters could use outfit styles that don't match their class. I recall seeing the suggestion that the aura wouldn't apply if it doesn't match your class, and I feel like that would be a decent compromise.

Somewhat related to this issue: You get the Class Set outfit aura in Werewolf form when you equip 5 item pieces in gear slots, but you don't get the aura if you just put the pieces in your Outfit. Apparently Werewolf form completely hides your Outfit, so it doesn't apply the aura in cases where it should, such as when you equip enough of the actual gear pieces.

Oh, wow. Thanks for this info — I can stop grinding the style pages now. I don’t show helmets on any of my characters and was planning to use the weapon styles to bring the total up to five.

What a waste of time… I’ve run IA way more times than I would have otherwise wanted to over the last few days.

Geeez it's bad enough that we can't equip outfit styles how we want and are class-limited for something purely cosmetic, I mostly accepted that and have planned outfits for my characters accordingly. But if we hide the helmet, it doesn't count? And weapons too? That's absurd, do they want all players to run around in the exact same outfit?

Exactly, there’s literally no point in grinding these pages if you have any interest in customizing your appearance while retaining the unique aura (which, let’s face it, is the main reason why any of us wanted these styles).

Speaking of the aura, anyone happen to know if it persists when you equip five pieces of the class set jewelry and weapons? I’m semi-interested in using the Arcanist and DK sets for PVP, and the cool effects would provide a little more incentive to acquire them (dazzling your enemies with your fashion is part of the fun, of course).

If you have 5pieces of the class set active its going to show the aura. Doesnt matter if its on the jewlery or not.

I feel like that's one of the worst parts about this; if you want an aura, you have to have it be that your outfit is so heavily limited to just one style. For me, one of the most fun parts about fashion in this game is mixing and matching styles.

Also of note is that shield pages also don't add up to the five count, as found out with some more testing I did.

@ZOS_Kevin Is there any chance that you'd be able to comment if the aura is intended to only apply to armor style pages? Any help would be appreciated.

The only one that kinda looks good, imo, is the nightblade mask. Too bad I don't play nightblade anymore.

I'm completely uninterested in the auras. I only wanted to use some parts of the styles (all pretty much on a different class than the sets are restricted too).

But it's "funny" that the thing, which is the likely cause why the styles are class restricted, isn't even done well.

So, Gold Road launched - any changes on this?

Are we able to equip weapons or hide helmets and still receive the class style aura now?

Console player, planning to mix Gardener of seasons and Shardborn, but it looks difficult judging by the precedent comments... Any good news?

From what I can tell, weapon styles still do not contribute to the total. I cannot check about hide helmet since I do not have the pages on Live, and I cannot find the pack for them on PTS. I've given up on IA due to the low drop rate for (seemingly) bugged style pages.
