How does Veteran ranks make u stronger?

hey guys was just wondering what improvements you get when you rank up a veteran level? other than marginally better gear how does it make your character stronger? im pretty sure base stats dont go up, is it your softcaps increase?

✭✭✭You also get 10 points of stamina/health/magicka each rank which ads up to a total of 26.66666 STAT POINTS. That means you gain ~27 levels during your Vet rank progression.
