Yes, which is why ZOS could think outside the chariot on this one (excuse the pun). Mount-drawn chariots could be faster than other mounts, but have the limitation of not traversing some types of terrain, e.g. stairs.

I don't think it's "immersion breaking" to think that there should be chariots in the future (which I've wanted for a long time), but it's rather odd that we don't have any yet. Especially when you consider that a lot of the Redguard and Yokudan style is inspired by ancient Assyrian and Egyptian depictions.

A chariot isn't even a mount, anyway. It's a vehicle.

It’s part of the lore, therefore it’s not immersion breaking in the world of Tamriel. Just leave it alone. Don’t use it if you don’t want to. Goodness…

To be honest, the phrase "this is immersion-breaking for me" is not a good indicator whether something is a good idea or not. It is just your personal opinion. This is fine. You can have this opinion as much as I have the opinion that these flashy mounts are immersion-breaking.
But to repeat constantly that one phrase that it is immersion-breaking for you (personally), ressembles more an attempt to fight against this idea rather than really adding something constructive.

Try to put yourself in my place: you come up with an idea and somebody constantly tells not once but many times that he or she does not like the idea. Would this convince you?

If you have some solid arguments that are more than an opinion (since we now already know your opinion on it and our memory is not so short to have forgotten it) that support why chariots or wagons or similar should not be used for players as a means of transportation please share freely. I am always happy to see other sides. I won't promise though that I will revert my view on the subject.

Thanks for finding these lore-related quotes. Those are awesome!

Technology often spreads through it's use in war- either because opposing armies see the technology of their enemies and copy it, or because they have commandeered it as a war prize.

We have plenty of evidence that almost every society in the TES world keeps historical records and documentation (whether it be of their own culture, or other cultures) We even have antiquarians who study the past, and historians in the game. Knowledge of the existence of chariots would (and already has through evidence in the lore) spread to multiple cultures, and from what it sounds like, continue to remain in use.

Undoubtedly the remains of Ra-Gada chariots might be hidden in high-rock somewhere. If I can't have a chariot mount, I'd at least love an antiquity! (Though I'd love a mount far more XD) We can dig up entire boats, sails and all, after all, why not a war chariot?

I think we should have many colors of elegant chariot, with different horse color, to be accessable to all types of player.

But also, special red-diamond war chariot for emperors of cyrodiil to earn. To be purchase for AP by emperors past and future.

Maybe it could look red and gold like this, pull by black horses, and feature the red diamond as a motif on it somewhere

if for some chariots are so outrageous lets get just simple ordinary carts, they are everywhere from the begining, u can put even some in ur home if u want, why not make them as mount? sitting on a cart pulled by a horse more fit than riding on wolf from oblivion, guar made from living branches or cosmic goat

I don't see why we couldn't have a magic carpet since levitation is a thing in the TES universe. They don't even have to fly, per-se, they could just hover a few feet off of the ground. I've played games without flying mounts that had magic carpets that did this.
