Becoming Emperor for Script Scraps?

As some of you might have already seen from my other posts recently I've been railing against the maddening grind that is getting 50/50 scraps. I am currently sitting at 25/50 so naturally I was looking for the most efficient way to get this done and end my torment. I immediately noticed that you get 25 scraps for being crowned Emperor of Cyrodiil so naturally I looked into it since it was a sort of silver bullet if you will for my situation.

I've never PvPed seriously in any game I've ever played and certainly not in ESO so I had no idea what this would entail but expected some kind of monumental PvP achievement that I would most certainly be ill equipped for. However, it turns out that getting Emperor doesn't really require much PvP acumen at all but instead, much like becoming an emperor in real life, it requires a lot of bribing and backroom dealings (aka getting boosted by one of the dedicated gangs that do this for a living). The title is apparently meaningless and the emperorship something that gets passed around like a 5 gold-- ehem, lusty Argonian maid.

As I said before, I've never even contemplated anything like this, let alone considered it, but desperation drove me to it because of what a slog the grind for scraps would be otherwise. Frankly, I am appalled that this is even possible and genuinely don't know whether or not engaging in something like this is kosher even though it's technically not possible to do this by yourself anyway. The whole thing seems like some kind of colossal joke or a scam. Yet apparently people have been doing it all week and getting their 50 scraps in a matter of hours, not weeks or even months as would be the case for more casual players.

Is getting boosted to Emperor legit or should I steer clear?

It's legit - all you need is the gold. No one's going to ding you for it....

Emp trading is turning a portion of the game of others players selfishly into a commodity. Of course you shouldn't even attempt it. There are plenty of ways to get scraps more reliably and cheaply, and you don't even have a need for them, much less an urgent one, as shown in your other thread.

It's not against the rules. Your interpretation is yours alone.

I'm not interested in emp, and even if I were, I wouldn't put that much gold into it (the costume is just plain ugly, and pvp is of ZERO interest to me). But it's simply another in-game commodity at this point. There's no reason for those with the gold not to pay for it if they want to.

It's just like vet carries.... It's not outlawed.

It's totally legitimate. It isn't something I would ever do, because I'm not swimming in excessive piles of gold, nor do I care enough about either emperorship or those scraps to pay a pile of gold for it. But it's legitimate, even if "real PvPers" probably scoff at players who would pay to be boosted so they can become Emperor.

Actually, I think there might be a guild or two that might be happy to help their members get emperorship without requiring a pile of gold for it.

Got all my scraps within the first few days "by accident".

Been saving "complete trial quest" boxes on all my alts from all different categories. Opening a normal box and hardmode boxes from the same trials works and from all trials...

So it was like swoosh... 50 class script scraps done.

Just do random vet dungeons from all your characters. Do a Master Writ daily. Hand in scroll quests which does not require you to do anything other being in the Cyrodiil instance while your alliance captures the scroll. If you can do trials join some normal ones through group finder. Each coffer gives you scraps.

I might be wrong but it seems to be 1 Script Scrap per day no matter what activity you will do. I did Master Writ and got 1 Scrap, but after doing Infinite Archive daily quest I got nothing :|

I mean it would be an amusing reflection of actual history.

Many an emperor became so by throwing coin at it. Blood stained coin, but coin all the same.

It is distinctly not like PvE carries. For one, it affects unrelated players. For two, it often entails actions antithetical with PvP, like players dying to others on purpose or flippig objectives without defending them. Neither of these is true for PvE carries.

People should look down on something making the game worse for others. Some learn this in the first decade of their lives. Others haven't in a decade of playing this game.
