As some of you might have already seen from my other posts recently I've been railing against the maddening grind that is getting 50/50 scraps. I am currently sitting at 25/50 so naturally I was looking for the most efficient way to get this done and end my torment. I immediately noticed that you get 25 scraps for being crowned Emperor of Cyrodiil so naturally I looked into it since it was a sort of silver bullet if you will for my situation.
I've never PvPed seriously in any game I've ever played and certainly not in ESO so I had no idea what this would entail but expected some kind of monumental PvP achievement that I would most certainly be ill equipped for. However, it turns out that getting Emperor doesn't really require much PvP acumen at all but instead, much like becoming an emperor in real life, it requires a lot of bribing and backroom dealings (aka getting boosted by one of the dedicated gangs that do this for a living). The title is apparently meaningless and the emperorship something that gets passed around like a 5 gold-- ehem, lusty Argonian maid.
As I said before, I've never even contemplated anything like this, let alone considered it, but desperation drove me to it because of what a slog the grind for scraps would be otherwise. Frankly, I am appalled that this is even possible and genuinely don't know whether or not engaging in something like this is kosher even though it's technically not possible to do this by yourself anyway. The whole thing seems like some kind of colossal joke or a scam. Yet apparently people have been doing it all week and getting their 50 scraps in a matter of hours, not weeks or even months as would be the case for more casual players.
Is getting boosted to Emperor legit or should I steer clear?
