if you dont want mail to auto delete after claiming items, there is a little checkbox in the bottom left of the mail window to turn off that feature
    plays PC/NA

i have my main house (grand topal hideaway) listed in the housing tours, it has multiple target dummies, scribing altar, and grandmaster stations (in progress being filled out), as well as almost every antiquity furnishing on display to preview them

feel free to stop by and use the facilities

Thank you very much. It was going so fast I couldn't see what was there. I'm retired. I have time to open my own mail. :)

Can I have that problem, please? Mine is the opposite: once contents are claimed, mail can't be deleted (generates a UI error and then non-responsive thereafter). Hireling emails delete properly, but the rest have been persistent for a day or two.
I'm fresh out of outrage, but I could muster up some amused annoyance if required.

If you're using the No Thank You addon, disable it - somehow it interferes with deleting mail, and no telling when (or if) it will get updated.

Thanks for that insight, but it's not one of the addons I use. As far as I'm aware, the only installed addon which touches mail is Dolgubon's.

Try disabling that to see if it helps - I got a couple of LUA errors on it too. That was after I disabled No Thank You, but whatever that error on Dolgubon's was it didn't affect my mail.

As far as I know it should be enough to change in Settings for that add on to not use that setting that controls if you you should have warning or not when you delete mail.

addons that had an option to "hide the delete mail confirmation" dialog (such as no thank you, which can be turned off in addon settings), or another addon that was auto-performing this action is what was causing the UI error

the way that setting works is that it just auto deletes the mail after you claim whatever it is, basically just saves an extra step of deleting the mail after claiming the item(s)

personally im happy for it, but i know there are some people who like to save the hireling mails or whatnot (or in your case, of wanting to manually delete the mails)

I was glad to see that feature...I need to sort my mail pretty stringently, so was worried about an "auto-delete" option.

Bandit's is also throwing errors on the System Mail items.

I use the Postmaster mod. It put's what was done to the mail, such as deleting, returning, and auto-removing attachments, in my chat window. This helps me to make sure what was done, was done correctly or at least according to my wishes ;).

FOUND IT!!! (I think). It appears to be an issue with the uespLog addon. I have no idea why it's causing the problem, but maybe it's looking at the Hireling emails (there's page or two covering those pieces of correspondence)? Anyway, disabling that addon and reloading the UI let me delete the accumulated stuff under Player Mail and the new System Mail feature (I also unchecked the autodelete in the mailbox).

My mail auto empty after 6 days now. It's a massive downgrade. I need more time.

Does it help if I subscribe ESO+? For how long can we keep the mail by subscribing ESO+?

according to the patch notes the expire timers on some mail changed, these values do not change regardless if you are subbed or not
    • Information-only System Mail: 7 days
    • Hireling Mail: 7 days
    • Activity Finder Rewards: 7 days
    • Rewards for the Worthy: 7 days
    • Guild Trader Purchases: 7 days
    • Guild Trader Sales/Expirations: 14 days
    • Weekly Leaderboard Rewards: 14 days
    • Promotional rewards, such as Twitch Drops: 14 days to a maximum of 180 days

all of those are system generated mails

mails sent from another player i believe still have 30 days before they expire

I don't understand the change. I think it was way better before. 7 days isn't very useful.

I hope they give us an option to buy more time for mail in the crown. That would be a nice way to solve the problem if it's not too expensive.

a lot of people complained about the change but this is what we have now lol

personally i claim mails as soon as i get them so this change doesnt affect me, as i log in every day so nothing is ever in my inbox more than a day usually
