I broke a tank's heart last night. (Werewolf tanking)

    Fingers crossed! 🤞

Maybe it's time to use some reverse psychology and keep posting in the forums about how happy you are with the arcanist class?

The change to Tormentor was apparently made because AoE taunting didn't fit the combat team's vision for the game... a view which I find very sad as they're willing to kill off small unique playstyles to fit that vision.

We know AoE taunting was featured with the Scribing system, as Vault (the featured Bow Grimoire) has an AoE effect, and one of the effects you can apply to it is "Taunt":

Bet it'll taunt like new Tormentor where only one enemy is actually taunted.

It is confirmed that taunting with area of effect abilities — whether it be via skills like Grimoires or via item sets — will always only taunt a maximum of 1 enemy. I wrote the contents of the quoted post before we had access to the PTS and could test it ourselves.

In fact, now that Werewolf can taunt on heavy attack with Deafening Roar slotted, and Werewolf Berserker's heavy attacks are area of effect, we still aren't able to AoE taunt. It was even explicitly stated that AoE taunting wouldn't be an option even with Werewolf's in-kit abilities.

@MarioSMB We've lost so many good things recently not because they were overpowered but because it didn't fit this bizarre view that the combat devs had. Like you can dps as a warden without an ice staff or that necro is not longer a dps class etc.

Such a weird "reason". If it "didn't fit the vision ", then why did it exist in the first place. For years?
