I have 7 characters and I suspect the seed of the RNG might be at fault because my basic Sorcerer sees a lot of Essence Runes but rarely sees Potency Runes and my basic Templar sees lots of Potency Runes but few Aspect Runes. I've noticed similar effects with other equipment lines. Alternatively those of us who might notice these problems may actually be deluding ourselves and seeing shadows that don't exist. Mind you, I was very surprised to get a purple item drop off of an Alik'r Zombie on the shore, it's the sort of thing I expected might drop from bosses not minions (and, no, it wasn't something that my character could use).

Let's just put it this way... If I need a certain weapon, I can kill mobs until the cows come home and they won't drop that weapon. As soon as I go craft that weapon, the next mob I kill drops it. This has happened a few times.

Nope, This is definitely a true random loot system. You want biased go look at launch Diablo3 where it was almost impossible to get gear you could use, much less gear correct for your class.

Yep, I actually had my proof of being delusional last night. I went looking for Spidersilk in Rivenspire and collected about a dozen Potency runes seeing SFA Essence/Aspect Runes. I guess I'll have to make a nervous trip into Bangkorai for the Spidersilk :)

Its hard to know if there is something weird with the loot or if its just RNGesus being spiteful. We did about 4 runs of Elden Hollow today. One party member got epic loot on literally every boss drop while 3 of us just got nothing every time. Very frustrating.

Kind of off the mark, but I've had no luck whatsoever getting hold of either a two-handed sword or dagger with the 'training' trait.

So, I figured I'd just pop over to the Fighters' Guild and purchase them for researching. Of all the weapons available there with the training trait, guess which two you cannot purchase?

    Gotta love this game. :\

I still need a dagger with training on it...for about 3 more levels of sword and shield (already maxxed 2hd and DW).

Is the game inclined to NOT drop items that you use? I'm a sorc using a firestaff and all light armor. I almost never get light armor drops compared to medium or heavy. And when i do get light armor, it tends to be white instead of green.

And i have NEVER gotten a green firestaff to drop. I'm using a lvl 6 firestaff (i'm lvl 13 currently). If a firestaff drops, it's always white. Most of the staff drops are white. I've gotten plenty of green melee weapons though.

I also get way more medium and heavy armor then i do light armor to drop.

It's really annoying since I have zero traits for crafting a firestaff since none have dropped for me to research.

Life's a beach, get out your sunscreen and deal with it.

Oh, and by the way, were you aware you can craft weapons and armor all the way to level-14 without ever committing a skill point to crafting?

Yeah, the armor/weapons you need for your class hardly ever drop to you. I'm sure they made it that way. SUCKS! >.<
