Am I getting logged out for too much dps?

Hi All,

I've noticed this same bug happening to me for the third time in a row: I'm in a dungeon and the tank does a really good job pulling two groups of trash mobs together. I respond by dropping a Shooting Star ulti right into the middle of them.

And then my game stutters and crashes. I start my game up again and I'm unable to login again. Most recently, it happened to me in Dark Shade Caverns.

Am I triggering some sort of anti-cheating software that says my dps is too high or is it something else? This bug has happened reliably enough that I'm starting to think it's a feature. I find it very frustrating after queuing a good 15 mins for a dungeon.

I would not think it was DPS, strictly speaking. How much DPS are we talking about?

Nope, its the game.... not anything you're doing. Certain stuff like that causes hard crashes.

Good groups burn some things in seconds with actually ungodly digits there, so it's surely not it with random meteor drops.

It sounds like a potential sudden overload of visual effects. It can happen if your graphic settings are set to max and the skill(s) you're using has(ve) specific visual effects, combined with visual effects of other players and of the fighting generally. It can cause a peak consumption of graphic performances able to crash the game.

I think about this, because in my main game, when I'm doing group activities, we turn off our unnecessary visual animations, as well as followers, and reduce our graphic settings, to prevent this from happening. So I don't know if it's also possibly happening in ESO, but it sounds quite like it.
I'm out of my mind, feel free to leave a message... PC/NA

It seems to only happen in the older, non-dlc dungeons. I don't think it's purely on my side because it should not affect my ability to log back into the game again.

You can easily do 400k+ DPS on trash pulls. How much ist your down and upload and how much packet loss do occur?

I have no idea what my down/upload packet loss is. I'm on Aussie ping (250 ms) so lag and desyc issues are always present.

I can also manage 400k dps too (e.g. crabs in Blackdrake Villa). It only happens with Shooting Star so the issue might also be the stun and knockback as well.

    I wish I had 250ms. I think 330 is the lowest I've ever seen.

Game will not crash or close by itself even if you are rate limited for some reason. You would end up on login screen with an error message for example "kicked for spamming".

I've done close to 1 million DPS in Infinite Archive. So I don't think that's the issue

Dark Conversion bombing that last trash pack before last boss does make my screen freeze for 1-2 seconds but I never crash.

    The crash sounds odd.

If the client crashes and the server thinks you are still logged in, you will not be able to log in until the server logs you out from your previous session. What is the message you get when you try to log back in?

That happens because you crashed, and the server has not registered that you are no longer logged in. Until then, subsequent login attempts will fail.

It's not your damage. Trial DPS can hit millions in burst damage and never disconnect. It's probably just overloading with all the skill effects and mobs.

I do that pull you're talking about all the time solo with usually no issues. Sometimes there's a quick slight stutter bc of the large number of mobs and skill effects going off, but it never crashes me out.

I pull all the mob packs in the entire corridor - from start to finish then stop at the end and nuke them all.
