I also sometimes see players with unnatural amount of ap and have heard rumors that is what they do. I can't imagine why on earth anyone would need to "farm" ap. What will they do with it? I have 30m ap on just one toon i'm currently playing and i play 18 toons. I have nothing to spend it on, man. Same with transmute crystals, they just multiply on their own it seems.

Contact me on the PS4 (NA or EU) and you can buy me some patterns with all that useless AP!

(Joking since I know we are not allowed to trade here. I just find my grinding to be way too slow, but I am not a PvPer, just a completionist.)

This may get edited for explaining exploiting.

its called boosting. farming your friends near an empty keep and get defense ticks. you can get upwards of 1 million AP / hr using this strategy.

worth mentioning people have gotten banned for this, and its not allowed. i dont explain the exploit in full but the gist of it is farming your own friends over and over.

Not allowed, and its a risk you yourself are taking when cheating the leaderboards. i would not recommend it

Ah good ole fashioned fight-clubbing. We used to do that back in SWG when Jedi needed to farm a template.

farming was happening even years ago... they actually banned people? I'm shocked... Maybe they can use that ban button to deal with some bot farmers huh? ;)

It's almost like alliance locking the main populated campaign instead of the empty ones was a mistake......

    Wow I am in awe!
We have players on the Leaderboard in Blackreach (PC EU) at 4.5 Million AP after only 20 hrs with the start of the new campaign.
The level of skill must be astronomic?

Apparently the top dude got 500K AP in the first hour of the campaign.
    How does he do it?

Boosters. In my current Blackreach campaign on XBOX NA there was a guy who paid two guilds obscene amounts of gold to go onto the other two factions and help him farm massive amounts of AP off them. My pvp guild kicked all their asses regardless and made him waste his gold.

If it were up to me boosters, cheaters, and people working together with the enemy faction would all be perma-banned from pvp. Unfortunately the ESO pvp playerbase has degraded so much that this has become somewhat of an unpopular opinion. I even made a post on reddit once saying working with the enemy in cyrodil defeats the point of that pvp zone and ruins the fun for legit players. It got negative karma...

People are people anywhere you put them.

Do people lie, cheat, steal, rob, kill, abuse, curse, brag, in Real life Yes they do.

When I emped in GH it took 17 days 20 hour days, repping walls when it's dead, and getting to every fight possable.
You can do every quest on the map beforehand get the ap buff and turn it in to get a good start.

Repairing walls with the buff is around 60k an hour, maby, but it will get costly and it will hurt your hands.

I and the next emp that I passed to did go to a keep way up north with 2 huge zergs inside, of the opposite sides and one side was not moving and letting the other side kill them.

    So true

would be nice though to get a fresh official response @ZOS_GinaBruno

Is there any official stance on players not playing PvP the way it was intended? I mean, those that are grossly over-boosting for in-game gold, profit, and not wanting some fairplay?

Same people and guilds have been doing it for years, so I was curious if anything changed. Thank you.

Nothing has changed. I like achievements and furnishings and the boosting will make it to where I can't ever get EMP.

That's easy to do. Go to a delve and get the AP buff, then go repair walls.

    lol [snip]

Well there is another step I forgot to mention. Have about 12 friends on an enemy alliance die at the Keep so you get a defense tick.

Although this kind of behavior stinks I would not call it exploit. An exploit is when you know about a bug and recognize it as a bug and then repeatedly and on intention trigger that bug in order to get an advantage that you would not get without that bug.

As defense ticks and how they are attributed is intentional game mechanics technically it is not an exploit. It is abusing the system. I would take it on par with staged duels for some endeavors.
