Lycanthropy Bug?

About a week and a half ago I bit a friend and infected them with lycanthropy. At the time they were a level 28. Recently they reached level 35, and wanted to go in and try the quest. However, the lycanthropy had vanished from their active ability list, and the portal is no longer accessible to them. It doesn’t appear at all.
Today I tried twice to reinfect them but the option for me to do so also doesn’t appear.
Does anyone have any idea what could be going on?

    I read somewhere that the quest only lasts 6 days.

    I could be wrong so don't quote me on it but that might be it.

    Now that you mentioned it.... I think I remember reading the same thing. But if that's the case I should be able to bite him again.

    A guildmate of mine, who already bit 2 people before, wanted to bite me 2 days ago only to find out the ability had 38 days of cooldownnwl.

    The bite ability should only have a 7 day cool down. According to my active abilities list I am free and clear to bite again.

    Only thing I can think of is what Csub said.

    Maybe biting the same person has a longer cooldown.

    Hopefully someone who knows a bit more can help you with the facts behind it, I can't find much information on it at all. Or i'm just really bad at finding information.

    Same with my Vampirism. Maybe it was a display bug, maybe maintenance fixed it.

    I'm really not sure what is going on. I put in a ticket earlier asking for some info. So far nothing.

    Had the same thing happen to me. lost the quest, but I still was infected. Just had to go back to the wayshrine again where I met the one lady to start the quest after being hit by a werewolf. She popped back up and gave me the quest again.

    Try having them go to the mages' guild in the Rift and talking to the priest of Arkay or whatsit there. The buff that you get when someone bites you only lasts for a week. Perhaps something went wonky when they just let it expire instead of either doing the quest or curing it during that time. As the quest isn't there for them, try curing.

    When they log on later I will have them try this. Thanks.

    This happened to me too - my guy was bitten by a guildie when he was level 6. Despite my best efforts, I couldn't get him high enough to finish the quest. However, when the 6-day countdown ended, it seemed to go up to 50 days! He still had the disease and the quest available. He reached lvl 25 yesterday and I was able to complete the vampire quest and he became a vampire as normal.

    I'm guessing the extra timer is a bug, but it was one I happily made use of, as it meant I didn't need to be bitten again - and I didn't end up wasting that guildie's original bite!
