Replace the Kagouti in the West Weald with more native wildlife

During my time on the PTS I noticed there are an abundance of Kagouti within the new zone, a creature not native to Cyrodiil has no right being in the West Weald, Same thing happened with Necrom's Telvanni Peninsula having Deer which if my memory is correct are absent from the New Zone where as they should be abundant, could you please remove the Kagouti from this region and replace it with more native wildlife?

I can't even conceive why someone would make such a mistake.

The homogenization of Tamiel's fauna was bad enough in the base game, but because of the scope it was mildly excusable 10 years ago. There is no excuse today, there are more than enough critters and enemies that are apropriate for the West Weald. Kagouti aren't one of them.
Alandrol Sul: He's making another Numidium?!?
Vivec: Worse, buddy. They're buying it.

There's a few more with Terror birds in the normal part of the Weald who if I recall are in different biomes like Northern Elsweyr and there's Bog dogs and Death Hoppers in the Jungle when they should be in more swampy biomes like Blackwood and Black Marsh then the new Valenwood Jungle as they're homogenizating jungles with this and the Murkmire hostile flora that they used on the Systres which was meant to be for how dangerous Black Marsh is then generic jungle flora.

Yeah. Kagouti shouldn't be a thing in the West Weald. Replace them with Bears. Ya know, the West Weald Bear that's native to the zone? This shouldn't be that hard. Minotaur, Goblins, Bears, Lynx, Deer. You wanna get exotic, use Spriggans in the jungle areas.

I was hoping other people would find it as weird as I did. There’s no reason a kagouti would be in an Ayleid ruin. Minotaur I can understand because they love ruins and this is Cyrodiil, but kagouti?

I noticed this too and thought it was an odd choice. I was going to blame it on Ithelia (maybe they wandered in from the Many Paths?) but I shouldn’t have to mentally hand-wave this sort of thing, if that’s the case leave a note for me to find or slip in a line of dialogue. And if it isn’t, swap them out for something appropriate!

Right and even then, why kagouti and only kagouti? And how are they getting into the ruins??? The doors are closed? I don’t think Kagouti have arms?? My best guess at lore rationalizing this is that there’s creatures related to kagouti native to Hammerfell (wormmouth, bounder, etc.) but I have doubts that’s what ZOS is going for based on the poor lore depth of this chapter. And even if that was the rationale, then it shouldn’t be kagouti, it should be a new creature that’s related to kagouti. Kagouti are evolved for Morrowind, not Cyrodiil.

I have to agree that I'd perfer the native wildlife in the West Weald. Having deers and wolfs instead of bugs and kagouti is soething I'd like to see in the "normal" areas. I never liked the big bugs in the gold coast region and honestly do not understand what they are doing there.

I see no reason why kagouti are in the west weald. That should not be the case.

Can't we have wolves, deer, bears and maybe some sort of wild cat? Sprinkle of Minotaur?
Why does everywhere need to be everything all at once?

I had an issue long ago with using the words Haj-Mota and Kaj-Mota on creatures not even near any Argonian settlement or such ...

Surely the native speakers of the Systers/Elseweyr etc. would have a completely different word for the big and small terrapin/turtle crearures? And not the extremely native Jel words.

At first seeing the words used close to Blackmarsh felt fine because adopting words isn't foreign... but it would have been nice to have some in game discrepancy like simply renaming them to the local name for them. It would make the world feel much larger.

Adding fauna and flora from places quite literally from the otherside on the continent makes it feel so much smaller immersion-wise. Every area starts to feel the same.

Bad world building, or rather bad sticking to the already established world building of the area.

Some of us already know this area or have read about the area from a previous game. To many Gold Road is a curiousity to at least partly explore the past. I understand Dawnwood is of course not part of that, but maybe they can take some inspiration from their crown store, there's an Inkfur ursauk from Valenwood, why not put in some wild ursauks to show that.

Because they can't retroactively put in Ursauks into base zones. Respectfully, if they did we'd probably see Black Marsh plants and Kagouti in High Rock to our disdain.

Yeah I really hope they change this.

I remember they did this for the elk in the Telvanni Peninsula. IIRC they fixed it in one of the early PTS patches, but the kagouti thing here hasn't been changed yet so now I'm worried about it :#
