Multi-boxing Gold/Account farmers - THIS NEEDS ADDRESSING ASAP!

modz_85rwb17_ESO
Hi fellow travelers and dev's. I sure many of you by now have run into this through out the ESO world. Well I have had enough, every single solo dungeon i enter has this major problem. A gold/account farmer spamming the final NPC of all the Solo dungeons.

This has been frustrating the hell out of me and my fellow guild members as it is destroying the experience of solo dungeons and PVE game play. You (ESO Devs) have been actively cracking down on gold farmers/sellers quiet noticeably well, but this needs to be another high priority problem that needs addressing.

This is a new and interesting problem we haven't seen discussed before and that needed a new thread .. er .. wait.

sorry for adding another post about it. I don't have the time to scout other peoples issues. But maybe then by making more noise it can get resolved faster.

Be aware that "Multi-Boxing" by normal people is perfectly fine and is allowed within the EULA and Terms of Use. So make sure you know that they are bots before you report them and not normal people who have more money than you to run 2 to 3 extra accounts.

It's also not necessarily targeting the boss. There were about 20 or so of ferwfe and their friends in a dungeon I was in last night (and a handful outside that hadn't got in running into walls because they were getting the same commands) alternating between killing two groups of two mobs. I guess they get more drops killing 4 monsters than competing with players using knockback against a boss.

It's somewhat preferable, but still brings inflation to the game, is immersion breaking, and results in gold spam, gold selling and hacked accounts.

I doubt multi boxing (of the form shown here, where all but one of the clients is controlled by software not a human) is within the terms of the EULA.

So i'm to believe that zenimax has nothing to do with this, those are around 20 accounts there or w/e, you're telling me them selling 10k/3€, and getting banned constantly actually makes them a profit?

How the hell can you even make a profit if you ban them often?

Cmon.... this is not slander or anything, but logical assumption, no way on earth you pay 40-60$ for multiple accounts to farm with then sell 10k/3€.

Unless you use stolen credit cards or hacked accounts, in which case it's only profit.

I saw to groups of about eight toons, running in a line, from one non-boss mob to another - doing a circuit around the (outdoor) area in Deshaan. (Deshaan is a level 18 to 23 or so area.) Until then, and with over five days of playtime (type /played to check yours), I'd never seen this.

As I was just finishing a couple of quests "they" didn't really affect my game then - except for the immersion breaking wtf?! factor. If/when I see them in an area that I'd get good experience in, well, if it's rare I'll keep playing. If it becomes a bigger problem and is slowing my progress I'll likely quit.

Oh I hear you. Had three sets of 4 bots (I call them that cause their names were complete jibberish) auto following each other and pretty much wiping out the area I was in of all mobs. Thankfully I wasn't needing mobs there, but really, people don't think this is bothersome?

I can handle multiboxers. I have in EQ and EQ2, and have even done it myself. But at the rate it is happening now, it can become a problem, especially in lower areas where there are quite a number of 'trains' of them roaming around.

When bots are killing mobs in dungeons and outdoors, you are missing experience. Even if you did not need or want those mobs they are there for you to clear to your quest/boss objective to gain that extra intended experience.

As it is, many areas are invested with bots killing those mobs you are supposed to be clearing yourself thus gimping your character.

I'm really getting tired of these losers ... Ban the lot of them and implement some sort of system ... hell even whereby once you have killed the boss, you are locked-out from the mission for 24 hours, and force-removed to your starting city. If you kill the same boss in a row more than 5 times, impose an account suspension.

I don't care what people say about multiboxing, I see no difference between auto-followers and bots.

It's one thing to control two or more toons individually. It's a whole different thing to replicate one command for several accounts. It does NOT involve a player, but rather some keyboard command replicating software. It looks weird. It breaks immersion. It promotes farming without the corresponding effort, i.e. unduly rewards multiboxers vs. people who actually control their toon or even multiboxers that don't use auto-followers (assuming there are any). And it's an invitation to real-money gold selling.

I can relate to ZOS' dilemma because these multiboxers pay for each account. But personally I'd be very happy if they expressly forbid auto-follow in their ToS and ban the sh*t out of these creeps.

But there is no auto follow, so bots must be doing something different. That was a pretty important tool for multiboxing botting

That is precisely my point. The kind of multiboxing I've seen in ESO is basically indistinguishable from botting and should not be allowed.
