I've found the companion dialogue tends to be more annoying depending on how you like the companion (at least, that's the case for me). I find Mirri's company quite pleasant, so I enjoy her dialogue (which I've set to most frequent), and don't even get me started on that gorgeous accent...

I've returned after a very long absence and companions are still fairly new to me. I've collected them all but only really played with 3 so far - Az, Sharp and Mirri.

Az and Sharp because I started my catching up with Necrom and Mirri because I'm dolmen levelling new arcanists and she gets rapport when you loot dolmen chests. So it's more efficient to have her out for them.

The only thing which bugs me about Mirri is nagging me during combat.

Dodge now. Drink a magicka potion. etc. etc.

I hadn't noticed Az or Sharp doing that. But I'm planning to switch back to Sharp as soon as I finish levelling my last 2 arcanists hopefully today so I'll turn their vebosity back up and pay close attention to this.

Sharp says stuff. Even says if you don't get up after dying hell take your stuff.

Oh yeah, he gives me sass when my armour gets too degraded or if I let it break.

But it's less weird than Mirri.

Like approaching a dolmen in full swing with daedra literally raining from the sky around us.

    "There's trouble brewing. Stay alert."

    Thanks Mirri!

All the companions nag you to some extent or other. I like Sharp a lot but it annoys me when he nags me about repairing and recharging my gear... like, I have addons for that!

As a result, I'm starting to prefer Azander's manic laughter during combat, I think. No nagging there (except when you pick mushrooms). Tbh having a change in dialogue is one of the reasons I like switching them up.

They all do it. It would be great if they pointed out treasure chests as well!

Guess it's time to level Antiquities to get the passive that illuminates treasure chests. :)

I have that on my master crafter. It's a great wee perk to scrying!

I don't think I could go through all that again though. Think I will just purchase the skill for other characters from the crown store ;)

    Well....

at max level and with enough CP, most non group content in the game can be done easily naked if you're playing ranged magicka. Even without companions.

I don't always bother to repair. Why waste the gold or repair kits?

Actually I have completed some group events in group dungeons naked before. Even in Cyrodiil. Especially there. Cos sometimes I rip off my clothes to suicide teleport, then forget to reclothe.
No nagging there (except when you pick mushrooms).

Not just nag but lose rapport. Needing to unsummon and resummon him except on otherworldly maps where the shrooms aren't in the dirt is just too annoying.

Once your rapport is high enough, these negative rapport incidents barely make a dent. They're only -1 point, which can be more than made up with any +125 activity, assuming you're doing those from time to time. IIRC Azander's is an enchanting daily writ or a Necrom delve daily.

I know I said Sharp's nagging is annoying but I still enjoy having him along. I think both Necrom companions are a lot of fun.

Yeah I know their dailies and the numbers from his wiki entry and I could probably get away with flagrant mushroom picking by doing those.

But personally I'm super over crafting writs and the notion of going into even minimal time debt like this just doesn't add up for me.

Even with us in not identical but coordinated fabulous Scribes of Mora style.

I find some of Sharp's before-I-was-a-loner-but-now-I'm-not commentary slightly stupid but that just makes me laugh.

On the whole, I like him. Thematically I'm more warden than arcanist inclined but don't love their current design. Though that is being changed. So in the meantime I'm very happy to have him along instead. And I love argonians. They're very cool.

I even turned on auto-repairs on the inventory management addon for him.

Plus he loves it when I harvest anything, including mushrooms!

I have the addon set to auto-repair when gear breaks, which gains some disapproval from him - daily, lol. (In addition to the almost daily disapprovals when I use the outfit station). I once tried setting autorepairs to a level before he starts to remind me, but that made the repair kits disappear so fast.

Aside from the repair reminders, I do like him a lot. He's an excellent support companion for my DD, and I really like his voice and his appearance.

I have the PersonalAssistant addon and it lets me set the precise % at which to repair. I've set mine to 2%.

Yeah outfit station disapproval is <snip> rude though doesn't affect me because I have homes with crafting stations and those. Though rude, possibly appropriate co I'm having the hardest time making him look good.

His body shape and colour are different from my argonian characters so none of the outfits which look fabulous on them work for him. So far only the warden costume looks decent. So after this event ends I'm going to have spend a long time on my home outfit station creating a good look for him.

He and also Azandar I think, don't nag me during combat, which I also appreciate. Unlike Mirri who thankfully is now almost level 20 and will probably be joining mushroom hating Azandar as a stay-at-home companion.

FYI you can level it much less painfully on alts, because you can scry on your main then excavate on the alt, and it levels both scrying and excavation for the alt.

You just need to get to level 2, then you can fairly reliably excavate purples. At level it's possible but requires luck.

So use your main to scry a few blues for your alt, get them to level 2, then any purples you happen to find, let your alt excavate them.
