Apparently Isobele can detect heavy sack and notify player can we also have others like Miri, Bastion also notify players of heavy sack or this is just a special attributes solely for Isobele?

Sharp also does this. I've not heard any of the other companions do so.

Bastian points them out. I think the other companions do but I’ve been using Bastian recently and I’m sure about that one because we were in a dungeon yesterday and he pointed one out.

Ember does to, its nice and cool then they do.

I've heard them all do it at one point or another, although it seems Sharp and Bastian are the most keen-eyed among them.

I don't often see what it is they're drawing attention to. We're usually a bit further on when I have to stop and look around.

I've definitely been alerted to heavy sacks by all the companions except Mirri. It could just be bad RNG, but UESP's companion dialogue dump for her doesn't have heavy sack alert dialogue (though it does have dialogue triggered by looting a heavy sack). If Mirri really doesn't alert the player to heavy sacks, either intentionally or by some bug, it would be nice if ZOS changed it. It's a useful companion feature and there's no lore/characterization reason I can think of that would explain Mirri not having it.

Yes, whenever Bastian says something I have to back track and look around, but sometimes I don't see it. :(

I wonder if the setting to change how often our companion talks has an impact on how often they point them out. I mainly use Sharp for company and he does it relatively often for me. I have him set to talk very frequently on my settings.

wait wut only Miri doesnt notifies ? seems like a bug can anyone form zos verify this ?
I like using Miri as a healer with my stamina based characters.

On UESP, it shows this for Bastian’s dialogue options:

    “When spotting a heavy sack:

    "Hello, what's this?"
"Look here! A stranger's loss might be our gain."
"Even an old sack might have treasure inside."”

I looked under Mirri and it does not have this particular category for her, so chances are she really does not have the ability to point out a heavy sack.

Mirri does notify for heavy sacks, can't remember what her dialogue options are, but she does.

*Edit* I just took her to where I know some heavy sacks are, and for the 3 heavy sacks that were present, she didn't actually point out any, so maybe I'm wrong. Seems a bit weird if she's the only companion that doesn't though!

I haven't used companions but you know, they should be telling us where heavy sac and chests are in dungeons and overworld. It's the least they can do.

Agree, it would make more sense if both she and Bastian did not tell us about heavy sacks if it was added with the second round of companions.

Bastian can notice Psijic Portals where Rune nodes are located, if you haven't unlocked them on that character then you won't see anything there, while he does.

When Bastian and Mirri first came out, Bastian notifying the player about heavy sacks seemed like a perk specific to him. Then they gave the same perk to subsequent companions, making it more widespread, and maybe they didn't consider that this would leave Mirri out if they didn't retroactively add it to her.

No. But your reward is getting what's inside the heavy sack.

I am not certain, but it seems to be rapport related. That is, they only start alerting me to heavy sacks once my rapport reaches a certain level.

Ember and Isobel, yes. They're probably the best/worst of the lot. They'll even chime in if a sack spawns while you're not looking. Azandar and Sharp are probably next down, but both comment on Heavy Sacks. Mirri is better about it than Bastian, but her comments often tend to come after you've looted it.

I don't think it has anything to do with rapport, but I've never had a companion at rapport lower than their starting (750), so it's possible that they stop/start at some level below that.
I'm fresh out of outrage, but I could muster up some amused annoyance if required.

Guess it's time to level Antiquities to get the passive that illuminates treasure chests. :)

Bastian mentions it all the time, perhaps you run with the others more than Bastian? I rarely run Mirri, so I can't say for certain. But I do run Bastian a lot and he's always mentioning them.

This one doesn't sound terrible but I've not noticed it.

Then again I've turned their commentary setting down to minimal.

    "Drink a potion."

    "Dodge now."

Seriously. I'd tell to shut up or bugger off.

Companions are very useful but too naggy.

And needing to unsummon ones like Azandar every time I want to harvest a mushroom is a bit ridiculous. Dirt won't kill you Azandar. Stop being a ninny!

Look for where your companion has stopped temporarily. They will normally wait there for 5 seconds or so after alerting you to the heavy sack.

I've found the companion dialogue tends to be more annoying depending on how you like the companion (at least, that's the case for me). I find Mirri's company quite pleasant, so I enjoy her dialogue (which I've set to most frequent), and don't even get me started on that gorgeous accent...
