There has been compensation. There's conversation to be had about whether or not it was sufficient, but let's not deny it hasn't ever happened in some form or other. It lessens your argument because it can easily be shut down with "yes, there has".

There's been more than event extensions in the past. Though if they say we just get an extension (which does nothing to close the gap between those who have been able to continue playing and those who are locked out) and/or send us some xp scrolls, it will feel more like a kick than compensation.

While I don't feel entitled to anything, the minimum they need to do to remove some of the bad taste from this is send those with locked accounts the vouchers/horse progress/endeavors they are missing the chance to get. To actually make this feel okay though... yea, something bigger needed this time.

This has created a lot of chaos for me, for my guilds, for my groups and my friends. I'm watching another of my groups probably need to cancel right now since they are struggling to replace me.

There was compensation just last month for the people who missed Daily Rewards due to some issues, ZOS had an equivalent amount of stuff added to those accounts for the days that were going to be missed.

Guar Pets, 3000 Telvar and 5000 Gold...a few days added to the end of events.

None felt like satisfactory compensatory rewards for the loss felt by the community, but it often feels like the Devs aren't open to suggestions provided by the community. We should lower our expectations - significantly.

The most disturbing thing about this particular incident is it involves the PTS - The Test Platform. The primary feedback from testers on PTS has been that the suggestions and feedback provided are largely ignored, and they haven't been listened to.
Reported errors and bugs often make it to Live. Those issues are then addressed (sometimes), often at what feel like a slow pace to the Live community - to the exasperation of the PTS test community (who screams I told them about this!!!).

This error has spurred an erosion of trust at the player test level, and because of it we have lost more testers. That is deeply concerning.

Imagine you go to a restaurant and find out your chicken is slightly raw. The server takes it to the back and the chef dissects it to find out exactly what percentage of your chicken was raw and what was cooked so they can determine how much of a discount to give. While waiting for the dissection to complete, the server assures you that you will be compensated but is unable to even promise a free meal.

No, any sane business immediately awards the whole chicken meal as free + a replacement or in generous cases the entire table order is free.

Not sure salmonella poisoning is quite the right example. :)

    This feels more like:
You have a membership to a local gym and it had to shut down because one of the trainers set the break room on fire microwaving popcorn too long.

Should they extend your membership? Yes!
Should the starting point be how long the gym was closed? Yes!
In the interest of public relations, should they do something more? Absolutely.

There won't be any I say this with understanding that you enjoy the game but they rarely listen to player feedback ever. They release broken content just to make sure their deadline is met even if it means releasing things with game breaking bugs. Now this happens and people are outraged and just want to get back to playing the game.

But the bigger question is how they are treating you guys and your willingness as a community to think it's okay to be treated that way. What would happen if a lot of the player base just banned together and didn't play anymore? You all move onto something else and the workers need to worry about their job security because the people pay their bills through microtransactions, eso +, buying dlc packs ECT.

So the message people never send to them is we are not okay with this but if you give us stuff back we will just continue playing. The cycle just repeats itself over and over again so unfortunately the community is to blame for how the devs interact. I haven't played in years at this point and seeing stuff like this is heartbreaking.

I left for ff14 a while ago and the way the devs treat their community is so much better. Just an example their last big expansion was delayed multiple weeks because the developers felt the story didn't live up to their standards. So they fixed the ending and then released it. Here in ESO if the pts server reports an instance is bugged and not working properly, if the devs can't fix it before their quota day it will be released broken. It has happened many times. Just saying.

I'm unsure why you are directing some of that to me, but about the point above - they've already confirmed they are looking into some kind of compensation for players hit by this, and on a couple of recent occasions I've been pretty impressed by how certain things were handled.

So I'm happy you like FF14, but it's not for me, and I'll wait this out for now.

So, is there any reliable statement yet about whether the event will be extended and if so, for how many days? I've seen people mentioning it, but never something official (which I always found weird, btw; if there's an important announcement to be made, it should be easily noticeable without having to search for it, something like a text box on top of the forum or a news items on the official website). Would be nice to be able to plan ahead.

I'd like to introduce you to a section up there called the Dev Tracker. Second tab along the main menu at the very top. This is where all posts from ZOS staff are highlighted.

If you check the Dev Tracker, you'll see the following message from Gina Bruno:
First, to acknowledge that many of you lost playtime in the middle of an event, we will extend the Anniversary Jubilee event by two days on PC NA and EU to allow you a little extra time to obtain any items or event tickets. This puts the new end date for PC realms on April 25 at 9:59am EDT. Additionally, all PC NA players will be granted an extra 200 Seals of Endeavor.

By the way, apologies if you think I'm being patronising - I do not intend to be. It seems that many members of the forum don't know about the Dev Tracker so miss important updates.

Generally I've found any issue I ticket is addressed within one or two updates, and while there's been a couple of issues where I feel their response has been very poor, in balance it hasn't tipped me over the line of more bad than good.

At the moment I am angry and frustrated. I would be far less of either if there weren't currently so many limited time things in the game that I want to be involved with, but either way I'm reserving any judgement on staying/leaving until I know the final outcome of everything. Learning last night that the account codes they sent out were not just base game ones was pretty reassuring because it means they are showing willing to do a bit more than the absolute minimum. Though it isn't what it was intended for, from that I understand I can save that code for when my account is unbanned and then use it to gain collectors edition items I am missing from earlier chapters. That stuff isn't going to make the time locked out suddenly okay but it sounds like more will be provided too and they just haven't finalized the decision on what that will be yet.
