Old Jubilee Cakes from 2016 to 2019?

    Did they, though?

I'll never understand the mindset of a certain type of gamer who can't enjoy an item if someone else somewhere might be enjoying it, too. What possible impact can it have on your life if I have an imaginary cake in an imaginary home where you will certainly never see it?

I think it's a tricky issue because of how... unpredictable... MMO players can be about "special" rewards they've earned and whether it's "fair" to them if other players are subsequently given an easier opportunity to get those same rewards without having had to earn them in the same way.

Mind you, I'd also like to be able to buy the older jubilee cakes that I missed; I'm just sayin'.

What might be a better solution-- for those players who are specifically interested in the older cakes because they look more like "normal" cakes-- would be to add blueprints or whatever for crafting our own cake and pastry furnishings.

I'd be fine with that. Better than fine; I'd almost always prefer to craft an item myself instead of buying it.

That being said, I will continue to judge people who only find value in things if someone else doesn't have them. It just seems so weird; could never be me.

I've always been sad that I don't have the cake from the year I actually started playing the game-2018, because I began just a bit too far after the event to be able to partake of it. So unfortunately, my cake collection isn't an accurate representation of the years I played.

I don't want or need the mementos for 2016, 2017, or 2018, but I would appreciate being able to purchase the furnishings- or at least something slightly similar. They are the best looking "normal" cakes in the game.
    Legends never die
    They're written down in eternity
But you'll never see the price it costs
The scars collected all their lives
When everything's lost, they pick up their hearts and avenge defeat
Before it all starts, they suffer through harm just to touch a dream
    Oh, pick yourself up, 'cause
    Legends never die

I understand it when it's a reward for doing something that's actually a fair challenge. But in this case there was no challenge, and the furniture rewards was not assigned fairly. It was given retroactively. So, nobody earned those cake furnishings imo. At least not the ones created before they existed.

And I don't say that as someone who just wants them. Updated pic.

Like genuinely, those mementos were given for existing. You don't even need to run around looking for the ingredients, it was all right there. They really didn't need to be like this. .

It legit irritates me how they retroactively punished players for not doing something they told them was just for exp. It don't sit well with me. And never will. Kind of takes some of the shine off my cakes. I still like them a lot. But, I'd like them a whole lot better if they were fair.

I will never agree that the cakes should only be available for the years participated because there are people WHO did participate who can't buy the old cakes. Not because they didn't do the event, on the contrary, they did do the event.

But because the cakes were added years after the mementos. In fact, the mementos were shown off to work for groups the first year, so not everyone needed to get a cake.

I don't think needing the power to divine the future should be required for a simple cosmetic item.

I fall into this category. I can't get the cakes for 2016 or 2017, not because I wasn't playing, but because I didn't do the cake quest since it wasn't necessary to do it to participate in the event. There were no furnishings back then.

I'm in a similar situation. I started playing in early 2017, but didn't really understand how events worked in ESO until the following year. (And in my defense, ESO events were much more lowkey at that time, and easier to miss.)
