Maintenance for the week of October 6:
• [COMPLETE] ESO Store and Account System for maintenance – October 8, 2:00PM EDT (18:00 UTC) - 6:00PM EDT (22:00 UTC)
I think the purple coffers are primarily aimed at newer players who still need things like the event-related recipes. The gold coffers are where the real rewards usually are.
I feel like the team has given up on events, we got a fresh style page and that is it. In WoW they add more content and stuff to do each year with the event. I prefer ESO because the community is better and there is more stuff to do, but I feel like content has taken a dive. I'm not sure if it's staffing issues, or just things are not a prio.
Have to agree with everyone. I only bother getting my tickets each day and then do other things. None of the purple boxes I got the first two days had anything worth spending the time on and I’d rather not burn myself out forcing myself to participate. If they had a better chance of dropping stuff, great (I’m definitely missing stuff, including the entire second seed style) but since the drop rates on everything are so abyssal I’ve just stopped caring.
PC/NA
Mountain God | Leave No Bone Unbroken | Apex Predator | Pure Lunacy | Depths Defier | No Rest for the Wicked | In Defiance of Death
Defanged the Devourer | Nature's Wrath | Relentless Raider | True Genius | Bane of Thorns | Subterranean Smasher | Ardent Bibliophile
As with almost every other event, I'm doing the minimum needed to get the tickets and gold coffer, so I can spend more time doing other things I enjoy in the game. I did enjoy doing all of the quests on the first day, and even listened to all of the dialog and chose every dialog option. Since then, I've been clicking through the dialog and doing just the fireworks quest most days, but if I have time then I might do a few of the other quests for some purple coffers. I already have everything I need from the purple coffers as far as my main is concerned, but I still have some alts who don't know all of the recipes yet.
Another person here who didn't get all the Minstrel Cloths last year and was super disappointed that they're only avail via tickets or last year's drop sellers. I got 4 drops last year, and since they apparently aren't drops this year (not mentioned in the announcement) I ended up spending 1.5 mil to get the pieces I needed. I don't have tickets to spare on this, I'd been catching up on the Doomchar house so I don't even have Molag Smol yet.
Jesters purple boxes are always trash unless you need the recipes, if you have those then it's only worth getting the gold box.
I bought the last piece of minstrel cloth with tickets that I needed today, glad that is over.
I have the gold boxes piling up in my inventory because I am playing at different times of day and don’t want to miss a style page because of the cooldown. I hate to be a complainer but that is just another way they suck the fun out of these events.
Here’s hoping the next event is much more fun and profitable!
Khajiit Stamblade main
Dark Elf Magsorc
Redguard Stamina Dragonknight
Orc Stamplar PVP
Breton Magsorc PVP
Dark Elf Magden
Khajiit Stamblade
Khajiit Stamina Arcanist
Last year I farmed the event like crazy to get princess, and sold all my minstrel cloth, the gold they fetched was nicer than the costume. This year I also just do the king boar quests for my tickets, which will get me the 10 scraps of minstrel, nothing else I needed from event merchant this time. I actually don't think it's bad to have a low pressure event with anniversary immediately after, event fatigue hit me pretty hard last year after those two combined.
