Yes. Yes, you did. But it was your choice to pay 50m for bragging rights.
How should i know the increased the drop rate that drastically? They really destroyed the game for me with that, not even just bcs i lost 50M also bcs rare items was one of the main reasons i was playing the game.
If you're a collector, then isn't it better when the drop rate increases. That way you can collect even more of them?!
Unless you were selling them, in which case the sympathy oasis has succumbed to global warming

It seems they weren't interested in the item itself but only it's rarity.
I don't get it either, but some people want to have items others can't afford simply because those others can't afford.
Doesn't matter if the item itself is a banner or an apple. As long as it's expensive, it's interesting.

is it considered rare if ppl can drop it within 10min 3 TIMES IN A ROW?? F*CK NO! i never said i wouldve had anything against a small increase of the drop rate, but SMALL not by 99,9%... can you imagine how anyone have to feel who wasted weeks, probably months trying to get that rare gem bcs they really wanted or paid 100M+ in order to have something exclusive to put in their room and now it drops more often than golden mats on daily crafting writs? you were probably jealous on ppl who had it and bcs you were not able to get.

There has been no official statement from ZOS about this other than it was intended to be rare. When Maelstrom Arena started giving out Perfected weapons on Normal people were thanking ZOS like it was intended and they quickly fixed that.
So 50/50 it was intended imo.
I was wondering if it was a situation where a zero or two were dropped or something. I could imagine a theoretical drop rate of 1 in 100,000 from the beginning. Let's say somebody decides to drop it to a more reasonable 1 in 10,000, but instead accidentally makes it one in 1,000 or 1 in 100. It would have to be that specific code that was worked on, wouldn't it? I couldn't imagine them altering unrelated code that would somehow change an unrelated item drop rate. But who knows? Maybe they will speak up.... but I'm not counting on it.

everyone should be able to get items like the Sixth House banner.
nothing should be so rare people list it for 50 million gold.
i really liked the concept of very rare itemsthe morrowind banner was probably a bit too rare indeed but its basically a joke rn
it wont be worth more than 100k in a few days which is just ridiculous. i wouldve agreed if they increased the drop rate so it would actually became farmable like the alinor mirrors or such but what they did literally is a joke
i really dislike the concept of very rare items that people value at ridiculous prices of 10 or 50 million gold.
100k gold is cool! that's like what popular chest styles tend to cost.

it's a furnishing.
people want furnishings to decorate their homes with.
it shouldn't cost 10+ times more than the most expensive home, 3.8 million.
i like collecting! i love getting all the event outfit collectibles and things like every year's jubilee cake, however i would not get upset if zos allowed people to get jubilee cakes from years they weren't able to attend.
collect for yourself because you want it yourself, but please not because you want it exclusively for you or a select few lucky/extremely rich people.
I think we all have to agree that our efforts for acquiring something within this game will become easier one way or another at some point in the life time of the game. I think every collector should think this way and be ready for it.
Old content was hard when it was released but it is now too easy.
You can now farm the item you desire from a dungeon and it will eventually drop because of the curated sticker book.
Grinding champion points is much more easy now when they adjusted the experience curve.
Monster Masks were somewhat rare as they were only dropping a for a month, and no longer dropping until their weapon pack comes to Crown Store again for a week. But nowadays it can come up in Infinite Archive.
Furnishing Recipes of the ongoing chapter becomes dirt cheap when they make the event related to chapter after a few months of release.
Telvanni paintings were expensive but they are now dirt cheap as they adjusted the drop rate from chests.
The very same thing can happen to any rare item in the game. Maybe next patch or with a small update without giving any notice.

isnt really about the price. its about the rarity of an item. the alinor mirrors for example are also very rare but if they get sold, most long term players can afford it with a price of 3-5M. also the vvardenfell plants are getting sold for 1500 gold from time to time and they are very rare
Ayalockheart wrote: »Alright, for those who shelled out big bucks for it, let's be real—your 'collections' might not make much sense to others. At the end of the day, the value of something unique is pretty personal, right? What's a treasure to you might just be another item to someone else. So, if you went all-in on something like the Sixth House Banner, just remember, it's all about what it means to you, not everyone else.
With this line of thinking, they should probably just make 100,000 copies of the Mona Lisa, destroy the original, and sell them for 100 bucks each. That way everybody can have some cool art, and nobody needs to waste any money traveling to the Louve or anything.

This change wasn't detailed in the patch notes. At least, I hope it was an intended change as some of these items are so rare as to be practically non-existent.
That said I'm sorry you lost your coin OP. Wish I could help!
I never cease to be amazed by the things people complain about in this game. Looked up an image of said banner and thought “50 million gold … for THAT?” I wouldn’t even spend 50 million gold on a P2W PVP item that allowed me to win every encounter, let alone an ugly furnishing that only I will see in my digital house
TheMasterMeme wrote: »ElderOfTamriel wrote: »I thought if someone probably put the same droprate for the banner the same as for the pieces of the robe of the sixth house
I think it should be about as common as those robe fragments, if not just slightly rarer. But something like a banner furnishing should not be so rare only few people can get it.
Also is just a digital item of pixels, so just allow it to be realistically obtainable so people can have it if they wish, without having to spend so much time grinding just to not get it.
Also it does not even look that good for it to be that rare anyway, and even has an issue with it's animation where it does not loop that well if I remember correctly.

If this isn't about coin, then there is no issue at all.
Your individual banner is still one of the rare ones and you know that for yourself. Sure, you can't brag about it (which is a bad habit anyways), but you own now something meanwhile unobtainable, as the original rarity is gone.
It's really the same as with titles for example. When I got flawless conqueror back in 2017 it was a bit harder to do than nowadays. So, shall we prevent players to earn such titles by deactivating their earnability after a given amount of power creep?
Shall we undo curation because I had to farm my trial gear uncurated back in the days?
Of course not. But what makes you think furniture (or market prices) should be the one and only exception to adjusting values within the game as time moves on?
On a sidenote: The "most valuable" item wasn't destroyed as claimed falsely in the headline, but made more accessible. That's quite the contrary of destroying something. You sure it's not about the price?
