Theorycrafting highest burst combo's

For some time I've been stuck in this bad loop:
  • Look online for good pvp builds
  • Recreate/craft gear
  • Test it out
  • Not so great (or at least how I'm playing it)
  • Decon gear

So...kinda tired of wasting resources...so thought I'd ask you smart folks. I know there's a lot of "it depends" but I'm hoping somebody out there has played and tested a good combination of skills and sets that get the job done. Here's what I've though of (on paper at least) so far:

Templar - approaching a single target -> Aurora Javelin -> Critical Rush (triggers flame from Ashen Grip) -> Reflective light

Something long those lines. Thanks for any help. I finally have a pretty successful DPS in PVE...I'd like to have some in PVP as well someday.

Nightblade with 10k pen, 50% crit chance, 100% crit damage:
Light attack with a ranged weapon to build up to 5 stacks for merciless resolve and approach target in cloak, then Incapacitating strike --> Merciless Resolve bow proc--> Killer's Blade (if they're still alive)

10k pen is basically dual wielding sharpened maces with lover mundus, then use sets to build into crit and crit damage (archer's mind and/or order's wrath for instance -- bonus, both work in no proc cyro/ic).

The templar combo is Javelin -> Ice Comet -> Radiant Oppression for what it's worth. LOS is your friend when playing against it.

Also I should clarify for templars, you cast your ice comet first, stun them with aurora javelin so they can't block the comet, and then use radiant oppression from there. Basically every templar I run into nowadays is trying to do this.

For sorcerers, they put the haunting curse on you, proc a crystal frag from spamming crushing shock or similar, then apply mages fury and time their crystal frag proc to land at the same time the haunting curse explodes. Timing can be a little tricky and getting interrupted doesn't really help but that's the general plan.

Wardens time their burst around the deep fissure ability much like sorcs and haunting curse. Generally stam wardens will use 2h with wrecking blow and executioner as they don't have the class abilities that sorcerers have.

another way ive seen sorcs burst is crystal weapon + overload light attack (does even more if this can trigger procs like weapon enchant or gear) along with haunting curse

necro: blastbone -> shield charge (stun) -> LA + power slam with bash weaving. If both blastbone and power slam crit, you win.

power slam followed by 3.5 bash does highest pressure in my test -> basically keep bashing as fast as you can until the GCD bar is no longer red. There are better versions with crystal weapon or imbue weapon but I don't have patience for Psijic quests.

    For stamsorc it's Curse > Bound Armaments > precasted Cwep > ultimate/spammable.

Should deal up to 30k burst if everything crits

This is the only possible way a Templar can kill anything at the moment since they have no useful class skills. You can definitely get more burst on sorc/nb. One of the highest single target burst combos I've seen is necro with rez ulti getting 4 blast bones to land at once but it's super hard to set that up.

Animate Blastbones Ultimate > a quick prayer that they all leap the same area > everyone in the area is dead.

Half joking, but also not really - Animate Blastbones is the highest burst in the game if it lands, and it's not particularly close either. Good luck surviving an instant 70k hit of AoE damage. All you need is crit damage (Acuity), Balorgh, and some other source of damage (Ritualist will be the most but is finicky to use).

Of course this won't apply next patch because ZOS decided to delete burst necro from the game.

@CameraBeardThePirate Definitely that is the case (the burst and the removal of necro). Used to be with harmony jewelry, a self-synergized graveyard, and a well-timed colossus you could do some real damage in pvp. Probably you could still do a decent amount of damage with that combo but it's so much easier to just play nightblade instead.

What Templar lacks in outright burst they make up for with extreme pressure. Despite popular belief, stamina jabs is still one of the top damage dealing spamables in the game, especially if you build into its ability to strike multiple times.

Not entirely sure I agree with this with the amount of mitigation options there are to reduce jabs to nothing, most players now have easy access to major and minor evasion before you even factor in other mitigation sets/traits/skills and cp

What’s everyone’s thoughts on a dk burst combo seems it’s really not possible

    Noxious, claw, flames, leap whip?

Would love to hear if anyone is using a more proficient combo for a dk I struggle to “burst” on this class. Granted I assume it’s considered a pressure class but with the standardization and hybridization maybe someone has figured something out?

NB: draugrkin + Asylum Destro + way of fire or shattered fate or orders wrath, whatever, Weave crushing shock/LA x 5, cloak into Merciless Resolve crit.
