Tick tock, ZOS! Only a few weeks left to fix your massive oversight.

Not happening. This is how templars felt when they completely screwed jabs in update 35 🤡

All they'd need to do if they're absolutely insistent on this poorly thought out change is add the Stalking modifier or base Sacrifice buff to Blighted (along with making it even cheaper or having a dynamic cost to sustain it for mag builds). Blighted's damage just isn't there, and Necros weren't exactly topping DPS charts with Stalking to begin with.

Is the new blighted still much worse than stalking given that disease is more powerful and is auto proc'd now?

    Yes.

At most, a guaranteed proc of diseased will be about a 10% damage increase. This supposes that you never procced disease before, so in reality this is more like a 6% to 8% damage increase.

At minimum, the Stalking modifier is a 10% damage increase. In PvE, because Stalking was flame damage, it was actually closer to a 20% increase due to group buffs/debuffs like Engulfing Flames and Encratis. In PvP, you're missing out on those debuffs most of the time, but the Stalking modifier is usually providing a 20% to 30% buff by itself (and occasionally all the way up to a 50% buff) due to enemies kiting, etc. Most players are also Vampires in PvP, so again, Stalking was dealing even more damage because it was Flame.

Blighted does so much less damage than Stalking. Adding a guaranteed disease proc is a consolation prize at best, and a hefty damage nerf at worst.

tbh at this point I think that they have no intentions of keeping the old BB playstyle around. They will probably keep Blighted BB for a while, without making any substantial changes to it, and then after like 6+ months they will just turn it into another 10s/20s buff similar to GL Sacrifice but slightly different.

Why else would they replace the superior BB morph? Why else would they not, at the bare minimum, give Blighted BB dynamic cost? imo they just want to eventually force everyone to switch to GL Sacrifice.

My guess is that they probably want to kill necro so people would buy gold road for the scribing system so they can use EC on other classes. Necro has been the best class to use EC with, and scribing isn't going to change that. But if they delete the core skill on Necros, then nobody would use EC on them anymore due to low damage, which means players will have to buy gold road to use EC on a more effective class.

I already canceled my sub this monday. ZOS are just greedy and only care to squeeze as much money out of this game as they can.

They aren’t going to revert it.

I think part of the issue is that we have like 45 threads on PTS forums about necro, pretty much on the same topic. We need to merge those and create one big unofficial necro thread. Might be too late for this update but we should do it for Gold Road chapter when that hits PTS.

A ton of threads on one topic, not many of which reach page 3 are not going to draw attention. At least that’s what I am gathering from Necro’s neglect the last 3 years.

This would likely help (1 big combined thread).

I will say this though, unfortunately once a mechanical change/redesign has been done to an ability, it is almost impossible that it will be reversed.

    Sorc Overload 3rd bar removed
Sorc Crystal Blast replaced with crystal weapon
Templar ability that got replaced by beam
    Templar Jabs change
    DW Flurry change
    Now, necro stalking BB
(likely many others I've forgotten over time).

I just hope that necros get some real buffs this year (or if ZOS deems it that this year is for sorcs, then next year is necros turn).
