The eye tilt is one minor thing that doesn't annoy me that much, personally. And Eveli doesn't even look bad in that trailer. But how is this an Altmer face? She shape alone is much too rounded:
Eyes are wrong, too, with the iris being much too small. And with Dunmer, it gets even worse:
There's not even one thing right about her. Some people even thought she was supposed to be an orc.
:0 how she doesn't even have tusks

I think this is all cinematic trailers except Gold Road. Make Popcorn, sit back and watch the closest we will all get to an TES movie or TV show.

The three heroes are stand ins for your character. You are supposed to imagine your own character in their place. Its a very clever storytelling-device.
Wish my sorceress could fling around magic like the Altmer character--she seems to be a class unto herself, what with her magic and her sword. Just a tiny bit envious of her abilities.

Never worked for me, to be honest. All I see is one big human, one small human and a LotR elf woman running through some action scene that's roughly related to the new chapter in terms of scenery (and sometimes there's an opponent character that we'll meet during the storyline).
For me as a roleplayer its the most immersive kind of trailer-storytelling I have ever seen. I literally get goosebumps when I see the Heroes in a new cinematic.
I often watch the compilation of all the cinematics.

I was always able to project, be it with books, games or other media. But everyone feels art differently. thats the beauty of it.For me as a roleplayer its the most immersive kind of trailer-storytelling I have ever seen. I literally get goosebumps when I see the Heroes in a new cinematic.

To me as a roleplayer it doesn't work at all because the whole thing doesn't even really look TES most of the time. Could be an ad for every other fantasy game. Also, I can't relate to the characters in any way; they also don't look much like any character I'd create (and for the ones wondering: yes, I also have non-Dunmer characters).

What I cant understand is why you think the Trailers are generic. For me they are distinctively Elder Scrolls. And I have played all games since Daggerfall when they released.
The high Fantasy feeling. The casual nature of magic and the ebb and flow of appearances of Daedra/Dwemer/Werewolves and Vampires. And the Heroes with their high fantasy-power of killing pretty much anything in their Wake singlehandedly. Just like we can in TES-Games.What in the trailers looks typical TES to you? I'd like to understand.

I wish my characters could have a real beard like the Nord hero. But unfortunately neither of us will ever get what we want.
To create a character like the elf we'd probably need a one handed + spell skill line... or a Spellsword class. But I doubt the devs would be willing to create either....

But quality indeed dropped down below the ground since Morrowind, probably to cater more to non tes people with more humane looks.

Okay, that's a reasonable explanation. When was that? I can't remember. To be honest, I don't pay attention to these trailers much; I only watch them once or a few times for discussions after a reveal, but I'm no big fan of them (I especially hate how Dunmer don't really look like Dunmer in them, the one for the Necrom trailer didn't even have Dunmer eyes).
it was in the Elsweyr trailers, the breton was suddenly a necromancer

It wasn't a 'sudden' change. In one of the old base game trailers the Breton was killed and resurrected by Mannimarco.
After Mannimarco was defeated, the Breton came back as a necro.
Agreed, they're not as good without the elven eyes and ears. The eyes should be like this:NotaDaedraWorshipper wrote: »NotaDaedraWorshipper wrote: »NotaDaedraWorshipper wrote: »There isn't even a mer in the trailers, there's a human with cosmetic pointy ears on.
the only thing that's human about them is their eyes really
The only thing that's mer about them is their ears.
ESO and fanart can only make elves look good by making them look more human
I think mer are a lot more attractive when they look like mer 🤷
World of Warcraft, is that you?The first few trailers had flaws, too, though. Like comically large elven ears.
CameraBeardThePirate wrote: »CGI is expensive, and it's likely a lot easier/less time consuming for all the people in the trailers to have regular old eyes instead of super stylized elven eyes. Just a guess, but I'd put my money on that being the case over a deliberate style change to feel more "human".

TES-Heroes are not normal. We are literal godkillers.
In ESO we can do 100k DPS. Which means every enemy just explodes when youre looking at them funny. Endbosses from expansions normally dont even last long enough to say their opening line before dying. In Skyrim you can oneshot everything at the end with the right build.

You're still lying. This is obviously a human with glued-on fake ears. With that face, she would never be more than a Hulkynd if she was really an Altmer.
