Here is a friendly thread of what you think is the best and worst about ESO; maybe keep it to your top 3 loves and... the not so much fun. I can kick it off with mine in order.

    BEST/LOVE

#1 - Companions. I LOVE the companion system, it is what brought me back to ESO. I just wish I could have a self managed dungeon party of companions with companion controls such as "Don't stand so close".
#2 - Scrying and Excavation. This system is pure love and enjoyment. Most of my guild mates don't like it, but I love it. I love leveling it and running around all over the map digging up treasures and leads. It's epic.
#3 - Housing. - The housing is great fun to decorate and visit guild mate houses. I think the houses are too expensive though, especially the crown gated homes.I honestly think housing is the actual end game of ESO.

    WORST/DON'T LIKE THAT MUCH

#1 - PVP. It's total manure. That is all. There are so many threads on this, it's not worth discussing.
#2 - Skills and METAs. Twofold. There are several, several skills in this game that are totally, utterly, and completely pointless that absolutely no one uses. I think ZOS should really look at some of these skills and really try to put them on par with META skills. Having METAs in a game is not always the best, but a lot of time unavoidable, it does get annoying however. It really does ruin the whole "play it your way". It more like, play this way or stink to high heaven.
#3 - Champion Point Table. The Champion points themselves are great, but the table and abilities to put the points into needs deleted and completely redone. The table should be at least 5 to 10 times larger than it is now with more valid build diversity. There is only 1-2 different ways to do the champion points per class role and that's it. Anything outside of those setup and you're just stunting yourself; especially in Warfare and Fitness. Crafting is the only table that is pretty nice.

ZOS designed both PVE and PVP just like the different game title.
Or...build PVP contents based on PVE mechanics. Simply it's nonsense as game developer.

Can ZOS unite PVEver and PVPver and traditional TES fan in the 2024?
    Well....maybe they can't.

I really hate "meta build" aspect of ESO.
    Especially, PVEver vs PVPver problem.
It totally divided ESO 2 different world, and never cross.

Sometimes, experienced PVPver say "Let me help your build".
Me: "No thanks. My character is not for PVP contents, but for the PVE role".

ZOS also divided PVE player 2 types. One is very MMO people, one is solo traditional TES fan.
    It's also never cross.

We're playing same title, but we never cross. That's ESO.

    Best:

    1. I love the world design, the art style, the music. I just love to quest and discover
    2. I love the dungeons, the arenas, the trials. It's my first MMO ever that I do trials!
    3. Housing. (Althoug a little more functionality in them would be awesome.)

    Worst:
    3. The crown crates. Just let us buy the shinny things we want.
    4. Greed: Prices for mats are too expensive, and the furniture shop is way too expensive.
    5. No PvP update in several years. Hopefully end of year will be major addons or changes. (and that's coming from a mostly PvE player)

And so the Elder Scrolls foretold. You will be shy, and I will be bold.

    Best:
Lore. The IP itself is what brought me to this game. There's so much lore, and a lot of it is quite compelling. There's ample room for interpretation and a lot of mature themes to explore. I think ZOS has done a pretty good job of building upon it and adding to it.
Zone design. It’s an absolute treat to explore and get lost in this world. I am always impressed by Tamriel’s art and assets. There's so many zones to slowly explore and savor.
Soundtrack. It is exquisite. I pretty much bought Gladesong to have my own private place with that music. And with combat music being optional, it’s even easier to enjoy the music.
Character customization. I love the sheer variety of races, classes, outfits, mounts, and skins. There's so many ways to personalize our avatars. Endless experimentation.
Horizontal progression. Compared to WoW and other more traditional MMOs, I like how relevant the content stays as you level.
Diversity of activities. The main reason I've kept playing - there's such a variety of things to do. There's group activities, there's challenging solo content, there's chill questing, there's crafting, housing, etc. No matter what my mood is, I can find something to do that vibes with me at that moment.
Dungeons. I really enjoy dungeons, and I think it's some of the best content in the game. There's meaningful challenges and enjoyable mechanics in a lot of them. I really appreciate their creativity in these, especially Blackwood and onwards.

    Mixed:
Storytelling . There's many good stories and memorable characters in ESO. I think base game through Elsweyr had stronger writing than the last few expansions. Even still, I've enjoyed stories like Blackwood and High Isle, despite some of their shortcomings. Some of the new stories suffered from some pacing issues and bringing together all the elements in a satisfying way. Still, the world building's been great and I find something to enjoy in every release.
Rewards. The game is rewarding, in many ways. Between antiquities, motif hunting, and achievement tracking, I find there are hundreds of hours of content to chase after. However, there's still a lot of activities that require too much grind or crowns to get.
Housing. The base game has oodles of houses, but from High Isle onwards, there's been very little permanently available houses. There's also comparatively a small amount of medium sized houses. Despite that, decorating a house is an absolute joy. I'm excited to see what this year's update will be.
Events. Events are an engaging way to shake up one's daily routine and create opportunities to make gold and catch up on stickerbook and other content. My main criticisms are they're too often, ticket cap is too low, and the style pages drop too rarely.
Community Management. I'm basing these sentiments on what I see here. The CMs largely do a good job when it comes to posting official links, patch notes, and helping players get tickets moving. Especially since @zos_kevin joined. But they could improve updates on older bugs, lighten up on moderation here and Twitch, better handle controversy (U35, AWA, certain tweets, the endeavors and crown store issues last year), and let us know where things (fixes, overhauls) are between releases. I also think they should be doing more external news roundups (especially if certain interviews answer questions frequently asked here) and have some visible engagement on pts feedback.
Combat. When it works, which is most of the time, it's quite fun and fluid. However, I often run into situations where my skills just don't fire. Some of it is skills tripping over the GCD, which isn't communicated by the game. Some of it is combat bugs. Like, where my toon will start the animation and just twitch instead. I have yet to reliably replicate the issue, but it's a nuisance to deal with. There's other times where my reticle is off slightly and my whole rotation is borked. Meanwhile, I've seen skills go way out of their way for some critter. Other than those issues, I really enjoy making builds and playing the game.

    Worst:
Navigating the DLCs purchases. I don't mind the a la carte approach per se, but I think the way content purchases are setup just leads to confusion. I'm always seeing threads on Reddit asking how to get certain classes and DLCs and it just seems like the content is broken up too much. Which leads me to my next point...
FOMO. There is way too much of a reliance on timed deals. It burns me out sometimes. I wouldn't mind if it were just holiday stuff or the one-off deal here or there. But it's not. It's major swathes of content like housing and mounts that are timed deals. It's a little discouraging to have a game with such great customization and I can't buy or earn a lot of it.
Character Bound Armory & Outfit Slots. For all the hard work that went into making AWA launch, feels like a missed opportunity with these two features. They really should be account bound for how expensive they are.
Nagware NPCs. I really don't like the quest givers that follow you around (that's mostly in base game) and the multi-scene NPCs like Leramil that show up in 10 different places. Plant 'em in one place and let me do the content at my own pace, please. And please, find a better greeting than "You there!" for the next expansion's quest giver.
Horse Training. I'm thankfully done with this, but this needs an overhaul. I don't see the value in it. At best, it should purchasable in one shot, just like the bag and bank upgrade systems, which are the same age. Have content convince me to login daily, not horse training.

    Worst
    1. MMOver PVPver TESver are still totally divided. We're divided.
ZOS still couldn't find meaningful cross zone of the ESO.

    2. Extremely terrible game design as contemporary action game.
Basically, I hate all combat of the ESO. Mostly boring and nonsense, or dated feeling. :/

Best is probably the way progression works. "Horizontal" where you have gear for all scenarios.

Worst is their ability to make UI... luckily addon makers can fix that.

    Love
    - Atmosphere, I love the looks and sounds! Especially in newer zones, older ones are a little worse off in terms of looks.

    - Lore/Stories, always liked ES' more and ESO has some good stories I really enjoyed.

    - Housing, it’s fun to decorate your own space to your liking and visit other people’s places!

    - Customization, I love the amount of customization there is, being able to mix and color different motifs, markings and so on!

    Dislike
    - Customization, also dislike parts of it, mainly body markings removing the fur/scale patterns for Khajiiti and Argonians as well as not being able to mix Skins with Markings. Especially ironic for Argonians as they got the Bright-Throat skin alongside multiple Bright-Throat markings in the same Crown Crate… while not being able to be mixed wjth each other even though it works fine for NPCs.

    - A little specific but the Vossa-Satl and Mire Drum being Mementos instead of looped emotes like all the other instruments. As an Argonian enjoyer, very sad.

    - PvP, that’s just me not enjoying the gameplay of PvP. (Which makes me wish we got a PvE version of Cyrodiil/Imperial City)

    - FOMO, just terribly anti-consumer, with lootboxes also being tied to it. Worst offender though are the never returning collectibles of daily log-in rewards, which is especially sad if you lock a houseguest, like Thunderboots, so no one after that can ever get him.

Best: the actual game. It offers everything you'd expect from any Elder Scrolls game, and there's enough content to keep you busy for years to come.

Worst: the live service part. I often feel like eso would have been better off as a single player game. Not because I dislike the multiplayer part (my favorite zone/activity is Cyrodiil), but because zos isn't equipped to run a 24/7 service, and shows no interest in improving .

    BEST:

1- PC Addons! When I first started playing back in 2015, my intention was to become familiar with the game on PC, and then switch to PS4. However, once I started using addons, there was no way I could ever live without them. If ZOS ever removed addons from ESO, I would quit, permanently!

2- Companions! As a solo player, up until companions it was very difficult for me to solo any world bosses or group dungeons. Companions not only made it so I could play the content I wanted, but also made the game a lot more lively. Every year I look forward to two new companions... but WHY ZOS did you not add them with Gold Road?!?

3- Arcanist! Up until Arcanist, I was a Templar main... I had so many alts that were Templars... and then they nerfed Templar and changed jab animation... and I left the game for several months. I kept trying to come back, but each time I just couldn't get into it anymore. Then came Arcanist, and Sharp, which brought me back to enjoying ESO again... albeit after some time playing D4! LoL!

4- EASY open world! Whenever people complain about how easy open world is, I'm thinking, for a vet player like me who constantly creates new alts and then thinks about how many quests I need to complete- many times I just want to blow through the enemies as quickly as possible to move on to the next quest. To ME, it's fun to be OP. I want to FEEL like the hero, the only one to defeat Molag Bal, the hero of Tamriel who people should fear. Can I do that when every lowly enemy is a challenge? NO!

    WORST:

1- PVP and PVE not being separate. Constant nerfs to PVE just to satisfy the PVP players. It's not cool ZOS, and you should finally work on separating the two.

2- NERFS! Even Diablo 4 realize the hard way that players DO NOT like nerfs and WILL leave the game because of them. I'm hoping ZOS has learned this as well after the fiasco of a previous patch a year or so ago that saw numerous players leave, never to return. Many players, myself included, want to feel OP... and if they'd separate PVP and PVE... we could have the best of both worlds.

3- Crown Store/Crates! While I truly do understand from the business perspective, ZOS has to continuously generate revenue to keep the game going. Most players do not understand how much money it takes to pay devs, pay overhead, pay for servers, maintenance, etc... it is a LOT! ESO is not a charity, it costs money to keep going and create new content. However, being a player who constantly creates new characters- one thing I loved about Diablo 4 is that I could constantly create new characters, level, delete them... and not have to pay $$ to upgrade them. I have spent, since I started in ESO, probably over $10K (no lie)... mainly on upgrading new characters- only to delete them later. Not having a fast mount, not having the ability to switch outfits, all the skyshards, etc... is a non-starter for me. Thus, for me it's been extremely costly not having account wide mount upgrades, skyshards, outfits and armories.

4- Lack of communication! @ZOS_Kevin has been great, but otherwise, we are kept in the dark about most things. Why are companions going to Q4 and not included with Gold Road? Why was the Templar jabs animation changed and is there at least some hope that we can get the original back with the new Styling system??? So many questions, so little time. ;)

I think that's it. Overall, I'm very happy with ESO and the direction it's moving. Being able to customize is HUGE IMO, and I'm not even talking about Scribing... I'm talking Styling. Scribing, with Gold Road, won't even be a benefit to me since I use all Class skills. However, it's a good start, and hopefully will add some decent Grimoires to class skills down the road.

Not feeling like a super big wall of text today so I'll keep it very brief for once.

    Best:
    World building
art/voice acting/the whole vibe and aesthetic
    combat
    lore
    community
Housing system - best of it's kind in any mmo
LGBT representation is done wonderfully. I love finding the small casual remarks in letters an off-hand comment, and other small details scattered everywhere in the world.

    OK-ish
Questing- i'm happy that we mostly have story quests, but the way we are told the story could use some innovation or spicing up. questing has been feeling very the same. There is nothing wrong with it buuuut I feel it could use a boost in creative story telling. Like maybe little narative ingame cinematics, or anything that takes over the player camarea for a bit. I would love to be surprised!
IA Overyal i'm happy with it, and i look forward to any future additions to this system, it does get boring quickly if you grind it everyday.

    Worst:
-Rewards Fomo instead of effort (like super duper low drop rates during limited events) )i've been farming vMA everyday this event and OMG i'm so frustrated.
-Over monetization & lack of many ingame earnable rewards, like other competing MMOs
-Overland scaling that makes everything feel flat. (I wish it had GW2 overland system)
-Devs only trying to get new players and forgetting older players -we also don't really have enough gold sinks, the economy is getting more inflated by the year.
-Many old systems need love. (CP system, fishing, more items should be able to stack, inventory space problems. to name a few)
    -No separation in balancing pvp/pve
-first person not usable outside of overland questing. jokey last one 'cos I adore first person and wish it was move viable!

ESO is an amazing single player (online) game. The game has a clear identity and a loyal fan base, lots of potential.
But in the MMO part they still need to fix much stuff.

    • Character Creation/Design:While there might be some things I wish I could add to the character creator itself, the wide variety of appearances, motifs, and accessories available make character creation in ESO an art form. It's a joy to walk through a world where I can make a character look the way I envision them in my head, and I love seeing all of the unique ways in which other players express themselves.
    • PVP: I came to ESO fully intending to do nothing but PVE, but then I got a taste of PVP in my first Midyear Mayhem many years ago...long story short I now have EMP and am rapidly heading towards AvA level 50. I love everything about a good full scale battle in Cyrodiil. Best PVP of any PVP game I've played (When it functions...ahaha...haha...>.>; ).
    • Immersion:From housing, to questing, to overall world design- even Cyrodiil overland, it is easy to get lost in ESO for hours at a time immersing myself in the world of my characters and their stories. I love every ounce of it. No other MMO I've ever played (and I've played tons of them) has provided me with the kind of engaging experience that ESO does. It successfully mimics the feeling of a single player game, without being single player.

    Worst
Most players have already posted some of the games most obvious issues, so I'll list a few of my more personal annoyances that never the less impact gameplay.
    • Event rewards that look too similar to each other: This is a fairly recent problem. We've had a lot of motifs that look very similar to one another, being slight variations on the same theme or look. They chest pieces, in particular, tend to be very flat and mold weirdly to the characters, even when they are different. I'd like to see some better quality control when it comes to cosmetics. Tattoos and body markings, in particular, have been making me question why they were implemented when they look unfinished, or like nothing more than photoshop brushes stamped on the character model. Please, consider giving us tattoos that are smaller, more subtle, less garish, and more immersive.
    • Inconsistent Hair Colors: This is particularly bad on some hair styles, but not others. My high elfs normal hair color is the lightest light blond on the character creator, nearly white. Most base game hairs and some older crown store hairs display his hair color correctly. However, recent hair styles give him hair that is not blonde....its a dirty gray, like the color of an old mop. It lacks consistency with the actual color chosen on the character creator (even the color in the little box on the character creator looks nothing like the color displayed on these hair styles). Please, please look into making these hair styles match the correct hair colors when they are implemented. I know other players have this issue as well. Its been a pet peev of mine for ages.
    • Sweeping Changes: In spite of a huge amount of negative player feedback, sweeping changes are often made to the game which impact important aspects of game play. Many times, players come up with better solutions to problems than what has been implemented on the test server, only to be repeatedly ignored. AWA comes to mind. So many players had better ideas for how AWA could have been implemented, but to no avail- we have the system we have, unfortunately, and it will forever be a shadow of what a good Achievement system really looks like.

    2. The fact that you have to shout DESTROY to get rid of some of the items. I would understand if it was rare once-in-a-lifetime stuff, but some of the stuff I've had to yell at the top of my lungs over are things I can get every year.

You can "mark as junk" (right click the item in inventory, select that option in the dropdown), which will put it in your junk pane. When you get all the stuff you want to destroy in the junk pane, open Junk, click X (default, maybe different for you), and voilá - all gone.

oh I might start doing that. Thanks! :)
