I hope we get the usual, new zone, new quests, new companions. I think adding Arcanist and the crux system was pretty ground breaking for ESO. Overall I was very happy with Necrom.
OP, you forget that they have to follow Elder Scrolls lore, so there really isn't much they can do that's "totally new", let alone the fact that the game engine is pretty much at its limit.

I’m sure most people would far more enjoy fun content than it be 100% accurate and lore friendly.

I'm sure there's tons of fun content they could still come up with without breaking lore, so I don't see any need for that.
Btw, who is "we" and how do you know what "most people" think?

Actually, I was only interested in what your sources are or how you formed those opinions, as I have never seens stats (about how many people are here because they are TES fans or how many care for lore-friendlyness), but would find it interesting if there was something like that (and I don't follow any gaming websites, so I normally don't see it if there are any official statements or interviews that are not on the ESO website).

With that being said if eso was a new mmo back on 2014 and if wasn’t tied to the elder scrolls it would’ve been a dead game on launch and it would’ve never seen the light of day.
ESO Players: We want something new!
Also ESO Players: Nothing new! Don't touch my walled garden!
Also Also ESO Platers: "We" is too general of a term, I don't like your tone, grumble grumble.
Man, let people hope for whatever. What's gonna happen is gonna happen and we'll find out what that is today.
My list of hopes include an overhaul to the class system, vet overland, spellcrafting, a revert to templar jabs, 5 new classes at the same time, and a new lockpicking minigame where you have to beat the first level of super mario to unlock the lock.
