"Starting today, as part of our ongoing maintenance, we will be permanently purging banned players from your ignore lists."

No more going in and deleting spammers every week when you fill up. Nothing bad to say about this. <3

Well to be fair, it applies equally to trolls and other sorts as well. Also, I don't think people realize that the only way to stop goldsellers from activating new accounts is to legally go after them through ISPs. Since they're most likely not based in the US, this approach is out. In this day and age IP spoofing is pretty simple, and plenty of people have IP addresses that change on a regular basis.

They could always lock down new players for a week, but that would hurt the game as much as it helps.

I won't be happy with the ignore lists until they're "buffed" to the point that it's fatal for anyone that's on my list to attempt to speak to me.

"Ignore list crits you for 500K, rez here or at the nearest wayshrine?"

This might be too off-topic but: Can you use a new game account with a previously used game code, or would you need to purchase a new copy of the game to create a new account (which is what I had assumed)?

You need a new code. Otherwise there would be about 10 sold coppies of ESO, and message boards with codes on them.

Interesting, they're also basically saying you'll be able to know when people are banned...along with who they are, provided you have them ignored.

Thanks, @Xithian‌ - I was wondering in relation to your earlier comments - I would then guess they are just hoping to make it financially not viable for these sellers at some point, if their software purchase costs eat into their profits too much. I suppose they could also do away with the free 30 days of game time included with purchase, but I'd think that would turn off too many potential legitimate customers.

And provided you scour your ignore list every day and remember every name on it.

Haha, @Shimond‌. I don't care who they are, as long as they go away! :)

The cost isn't an issue. Goldsellers are already operating in shady areas. The commonly accepted belief is that they use stolen credit information to purchase new accounts. (On top of stealing accounts where they can) Adding more up front cost does not deter them.
