I have not had much time and haven't started making my Christmas rounds yet, but I will tomorrow and the day after since I've taken some time off from exam reading - it's such a lovely time making people happy

My wishes are always too many, and desiring things make me feel so guilty, but something I do save on is tri-pot pots, so I really wish for columbine

I also really wish for someone who can help me make a sorc build. I honestly aren't very good at making a decent build, and can't even get to the end of endless archive arc 3, so if someone has willpower, knowledge and time to help me out getting better that would be massively appreciated too

Sadly this year I haven't been able to devote the time I like to this thread, I am very sorry. The lead up to Christmas has been insane this time! Not to mention we have three birthdays all within 9 days of Christmas Day in our family.
I hope that all you lovely, generous people have a marvelous Christmas or whatever holiday you celebrate, and I wish you all the good wishes.

@lDaede Thank you for the goodies and that fantastic poem! I really enjoyed reading that; you're a very talented writer! I loved how your poem reflected the New Life event and all the race specific activities that we complete for our quests!

IDaede, Won't you be willing to post it on the forums here so everyone can see it? I think it's very clever, and many people would love to read it too. (Unless you've already shared it and I just didn't notice. I have been so busy with holiday stuff with the family that it wouldn't surprise me if something escaped my notice).

Very kind of you to say @Wolf_Eye; Everyone from PC/NA who has posted their @names here have already received a copy, I will post the Poem at the end of the event for anyone to read but don't want to spoil it yet for the folks on other Platforms/Regions who haven't received their New Life gift packages yet.

I can only speak for myself but for me the exchange doesn't end until the New Life Festival concludes so to any who are late to this thread don't be scared to post your wish list and have a look through the thread to see if you can bring cheer to others too; At the very least, if you are on PC/NA you will get a small goodie bag from me

Speaking of goodie bags, for PC/EU I only have one confirmed volunteer so far and they won't be able to start sending out the packages until after the 4th of January so please if there are any others who can handle sending out a couple of dozen packages send me a direct message.

We also don't have any Console volunteers yet, hopefully given there are only half a dozen people for each of the Console regions posting on this thread they have been gifting to each other but if anyone on Playstation or X-Box wants to make sure nobody is left out then send me a message.

Volunteers will need to be able to craft the Provisioning Beverage Delicacies 'Dubious Camoran Throne' and 'Witchmother's Potent Brew' plus be willing to spend a bit of time to Fish and run the event quests for writs.

Keep in mind that compiling and sending out the gift packages can be quite a grind; but for those of us who find joy in giving of ourselves to spread a little cheer it can also be very satisfying, just keep in mind that it is a time commitment as well as resource one.

Thankyou all plus extra thanks to those who have responded to my packages in game with such kind words (I copy every response I get into a text document so I can save it), enjoy the Festival!

Last year they sent me a wonderful present which put them on my permanent list of people to send thanks to each year, whether they are still participating in the gift exchange or even still playing. When they received my humble gift package from out of the blue not only did they remember little 'ol me but they tracked down my wish list for this year and sent me an amazing gift from it at a time where I desperately needed a pick me up. lDaede, Beautiful post. I hope that you are doing well and are feeling better. Your story about Trylien's gift to you really touched my heart because I had a similar experience the first year I participated in the ESO gift exchange back in 2018.

Back then, I was still very new to the game and had only been playing for a few months. ESO was an escape for me, as I was not doing very well in terms of my mental health. I fell in love with housing, and how I could tell stories about my characters through building a home for them. It was something that uplifted me and helped me get in touch with my creative side.

I remember how all I wanted back then was a certain redguard table that only came from the crown store, so that I could build a "King Arthur" style round-table set up in my home. It was my one wish- and a user named gangyzgirl granted it.

I was so elated to receive that table. I could not believe the generosity of this user- nor could I believe the outpouring of gifts I hadn't even asked for coming to my in-box to help me because I was new to the game. It really helped me during a dark time of my life. It made me realize that there were people out there- strangers I didn't even know, who were willing to reach out and bring a little happiness to someone else. (Thankfully, I am doing far better now)

And that's why I make sure to participate in this thread every single year. Back then, when I was first playing the game, I didn't have anything I could give- but 5 years into the game, I do my best to pay that gift, and every gift I have ever received here, forwards as much as I possibly can.

It's not really about the presents themselves, but about sending a message through the act of giving- it's about reaching out to another person, offering a hand to lift them up, because you never know. Your gift might just be that spark of light that illuminates someone's moment of darkness. Once upon a time, the gift of a table generously given was that spark for me.

IDaede's story, and so many other stories of hope that have come out of these threads year after year, are the true magic of the gift exchange. I am always inspired by each and every one of the people who share with us here.
