✭✭A winter or christmas themed mount would have made more sense.
Not all toons are female, and even though free, "giving away" something so trivial is a token gesture at best.
As it costs ZOS nothing to throw the players a bone in terms of cosmetics or mounts, they could have used the oppertunity to greatly improve customer happiness.

The earrings are not gender-locked and look nice IMO. I’m glad it wasn’t something holiday themed, personally. There are at least as many mounts that I think over-the-top or just ugly as ones I actually like, and I know many players have the opposite taste to me in this, so I’m glad it’s not another mount, but rather an adornment, which somehow we don’t have as many of, which can be worn by any race and gender and aren’t tied to a holiday.4
