Meta is Superb. Don’t Change a Thing.

The game is fairly balanced right now. Please don’t change a thing ZOS. DK, Warden, Sorc, NB, Arcanist, Templar, and Necros all have access to build choices that are competitive. The Tank meta is gone and time to kill for 95% of encounters is reasonable. There a certainly edge cases that could be considered imbalanced but that’s usually a small select of players. The edge cases don’t take away from the overall good state of balance right now.

I agree that DK and Arcanist are in good places (Arcanist less meta in PVP, but killing it in PVE and very adaptable). Perhaps Warden, Templar, and NB are too. Sorc, however, needs to have non-pet builds viable to have other build choices for PVE DPS and to not be trash in PVP. No, I don’t expect sorc to be good at everything, but to be something other than a pet-sitter, yes — I want to strike down my foes with lightning! Necro needs an overhaul to do any kind of decent damage in any content and is bottom tier in PVP.
But I totally agree with not changing the classes that are working and fun to play as they are now! :)

    (Edit: Silly typo)

For the most part I find all classes to be competitive in the hands of a competent player.

In particular Sorc and especially NB are way more dangerous with recent damage buffs.

I do think the following should be looked at:
    1. Impervious Runeward: shields too much in the 1st second
    2. Necro overall: I don't play the class but aside from ult Dark Convergence bombers, it seems like the toolkit is lackluster

Templar beam is too strong but the rest of the kit is lackluster, so beam shouldn't be nerfed without buffing the spammables a bit.

Undeath is too strong. Elemental Sus is too strong for being free cast. Necro needs buffed. Defiles need buffed. Master's DW needs to scale with offensive stats.

I'm sure this is really a comedy post and tongue in cheek. Well it put a smile on my face. :D

I stopped playing PvP because its totally unbalanced BS. The tank meta hasn't gone.

Let me tell you what I'm seeing in PvP : -

1 - Ball groups that ruin the fun : - (PLEASE, I dont want anyone to say "so you are saying organised groups shouldnt be allowed / organised groups will always be stronger) most people who say that are the people who are in ball groups. Its selfish garbage cheesey gameplay that wrecks performance and causes so many other issues. What is the point of spending time putting up 20 sieges only for a ball group to come around the corner and mow everyone down in 2 minutes?

2 - Invisible players - a lot of the pvp population are invisible. DREADFUL game design. As I've said, we aren't playing Players Vs (Arnies) Predator...These players appear out of nowhere press 2 buttons and kill about 7 people all at once, then buzz off. So we are left with having to constantly look over your shoulder. There doesnt seem to be a high risk / reward anymore for NB's, either because of broken sets or mythic items.

3 - Undeath / Vamps - whats all that about? someone tell me why vampires can walk around in the daylight? since when was that ever part of vampire lore? And werewolves? oh they can too, no full moon required = GARBAGE. So basically, many of the pvp players are vamps, why? because of the undeath passive. A game should never put you in a position where you have to "do this or your significantly worse off" I get tired of players who defend all the above 3 comments with,

"well form your own ball groups" - no, because that doesnt sort the problem it only adds to it.
"use detect pots etc" - no, I dont want to be constantly spamming potions because of a bad game design.
"yes but but, vamps are vunerable to flame dmg!!" - yeh ok....

I play on EU, but went on to NA to see if it was any better.....no its not.

Same ball groups, loads DKs / warderns running up and down towers playing kiss chase, lots of nbs hiding and being cowards, and running off with no chance to catch them....and vamps doing the same.

Oh and 1 guy who kept setting up a siege outside a keep then running along a wall while 10 players couldnt kill him.

I would like to suggest ways of sorting this out, but the tank meta hasnt gone, nor the awful troll builds.

I think the way to sort this out is to cap health to 30K, cap resistances, I don't know, to say 15-20K, remove invisibility (sorry NB's you have an unfair advantage), stop health stacking to eliminate game wrecking ball groups, and punish creatures of the night, yes creatures of the N I G H T, during daylight with some kind of negative effect

This could be sorted out very easily and make this pvp way more fairer and balanced, but ZOS just don't listen, and bizarrely some of the community don't seem to want a fair pvp game either

All I read is "the tank meta is gone" and instantly thought this is a sarcastic post.

The Tank Meta is nowhere near gone. It's active in both Cyro and Battlegrounds. It's full of people who play builds literally designed to not die while they hold an objective and laugh at entire groups failing to kill them.

Every class can scale shields, healing and damage off health....as long as that class is arcanist. Why are you playing anything else...it's your fault if you aren't.

Balanced, adjective: the classes I play are doing well, and the classes I don't like are doing poorly.

(though the real definition is: everybody complains their class is the absolute worst, no matter what class it is. which is close to, but not presently, the case in PVE—hello, arcanist—and not /that/ far off in PVP either, though less so I think.)

Yeah and then go to Cyro or IC to see lots of people running with 40k+ HP.

Best PvPers in bergama will rarely bring their setups into Cyro or BGs because these setups are often tailored specifically for duels.

In BGs numbers of people running with tanky proc based setups is increasing with every day.

There are also sets like rallying cry which adds noticable amount of defense. Plenty of people is also using mythics that boost their defense like gaze of sithis, death dealers fete, lefthander aegis etc. There are also sets like wretched vitality which boost sustain allowing for more survivability. Procs in general create easier dmg output so people can build more defense in other ways. Fact that top dueles in bergaga and some people with nice BG scores are not running tanky setups doesn't mean we don't have a tanky meta.

Op plays arcanist, so yes he found the meta "perfect"
Difficulty scaling is desperately needed. 9 years. 6 paid expansions. 22 DLCs. 35 game changing updates including A Realm Reborn-tier overhaul of the game including a permanent CP160 gear cap and ridiculous power creep thereafter. I'm sick and tired of hearing about Cadwell Silver&Gold as a "you think you do but you don't"-tier deflection to any criticism regarding the lack of overland difficulty in the game.

    • Crafted Potions: Essence of Spell Critical (Bugloss, Lady's Smock, and Water Hyacinth). Without magelight this is my primary means of obtaining Major Prophecy on my Sorc, which increases my Spell Critical Rating. This also heals and restores magicka. Essence of Immovability (Columbine, Corn Flower, and Wormwood). I use this in PvP, since this gives me stealth detection, knockback immunity, and restores magicka (better to use it when competent allies are nearby, since it might reveal that you are surrounded by multiple players in stealth and you will not have an emergency pot available after use). Essence of Invisibility with only 2 ingredients (Blue Entoloma, Namira's Rot, Nirnroot, or Spider Egg). I use this in PvE content that requires stealth and if I need more speed I'll use Rapid Maneuver before using the potion. Essence of Invisibility with 3 ingredients (Blessed Thistle, Blue Entoloma, and Namira's Rot). Very useful in PvP alongside the vampire Dark Stalker passive, since you'll be invisible, ignore movement speed penalty while in Crouch, and you'll have a 30% movement speed boost from Major Expedition (I always have this slotted when riding from point A to B in PvP land, since gankers are always lurking). My templar will mostly use Essence of Health (Tri-Stat Potion) Ingredients: (Mountain Flower, Columbine, and Bugloss).

And this is the real root cause. Proc sets. You can go no cp and you will see that there is no tanky meta there. Proc sets are generally cancer, and ruins PvP.

But as we can all see, no proc campaigns are almost empty - that means ppl are not interested in balanced PvP - they are interested in cheese builds to destroy opponents.

    Sad but true.
