Took a break from game to see inflation is 10x worse here than in the real world lol. columbine went from 4-500 gold to 4k... time for some major economy fixes.

Or you can make you own, can think of at least 3 ways to get Columbine easily (not that I actually use it muself, my potions are dragon thron and dragon parts....usually)

1: Farm it, heck if you do your crafting dalies you'll have surveys for days, get an alchemical one and keep running to and away from it until it spawns with columbine in it

2: Imperial city (it's a free dlc in the crown store) waxed alchemy bags, they cost a pittance of stones and each one contains a random assortment of reagents in decient amounts

3: Endless archive, which is a base game addition basically has the PvE version of said waxed alchemy bags with roguhly the same result (if not a little better, further testing would be needed however)

No doubt I can farm my own... I tend to go through 5-800 tri pots a week. which means a 150-200 columbine a week. I would easily have to double my play time to do so... I would think that prices going up 10x in about 2 years could easily be seen as an issue.

Not really. If you are not willing to put the time in to farm what you want, you have to pay what ever someone else wants for the time they put in to get what you want or you can go without. You have just as much time to get what you want as anyone else and are just choosing to spend it doing something else. You have to accept the tradeoffs of your own decisions.

Yes the price of Columbine has risen drastically during your break.....

The fact of the matter is demand outstripped supply due to several BiS potions/foods using it and in the case of some of those, using two at a time not just one per serving.

It's no longer just Tri Stat pots that people want Columbine for!

They could easily address this by giving Alchemy the Jewelry crafting treatment and just double or triple the number of potions created so the materials go further.

A lot of potions like minor heroism pots are too overly expensive for the average player to use.

So you want 8-12 potions per craft and 24-36 poisons?

Combination of increasing the number of potions made and adding them to the AP store could certainly help matters... as it stands i feel like I need to do double time just to be able to play the content I want to... At this point if they made it 50 potions instead of 10 in the crown store I'd probably spend crowns for them

Yeah why not? Potions are intended to be used on cooldown to get buffs classes lack. No reason for a stack of potions to cost as much as Golding your gear.

So the OP is consuming up to 800 tri pots per week and then complaining about the market demand for them  ?

So instead of changing your build to give you more resources or slotting self heals, you wanna flood the market with columbine and nerf the price?

wouldn't call taking prices back to near where they were for many years a nerf... What I would suggest is a little price deflation back to the normal range they ran for 5-6 years

I get all the folks making bank on these prices are going to resist any changes lol... My guess is that these folks are a very small percentage of the population... Dare we say the 1%. and I could care less if their bottom line goes down a tad if it benefits most in the game

I don't dispute that maybe some tinkering could help here, such as increasing Columbine drop rate / sources... I don't drink pots on cooldown so it's not something that matters to me and I'm not going to figure out the solution, but for sure ZoS could do some sort of QoL update with potions and alchemy to bring the supply up or the demand down.

But, the fact is that anyone in the game can get their own columbine if they're willing to spend time doing so.

Refusing to farm it oneself and then trying to blame / shame the people who do spend time farming is absurd. I'll sell my mats if/when I need gold and *if* I think the price is worth the time I put into farming them. But the price isn't high because I'm greedy. It's because demand vastly exceeds supply. I don't play this game to do work that other players aren't interested in doing - pay for my time or go farm up your own mats.

Some of them, certainly  !

Personally, I don't touch the trading system, I hate the fact that a core part of the game is locked behind guild membership.

Easy solution would just be a better distribution of which mats are used to make popular potions/foods. Then Columbine prices could stay high-ish, but maybe not quite as crazy as right now, and other things could also maybe gain in value a bit. Also just having tri-pots buyable for AP like wep/spell damage pots would help a lot.

Unless something like this changes, then until there are gameplay changes that make tripots less desired again, this is how it is. Can't expect the farmers/sellers not to make the most of it.

We have players manipulating the prices by "flipping" stuff all day long. Buying cheap and selling expensive can not be compared with farming an item. It has nothing to do with work. Nobody benefits from this, except the people doing it. Nothing is being produced. Just taken from the market and hoarded until people are willing to pay crazy prices. Taking away children's toys to sell them back way too expensive is nothing to be proud of. The richest get richer by adding nothing to the game, and the rest has to work and pay for everything. Just like in real life. Just as unfair, selfish, useless and damaging to the rest of the world.

Don't get me wrong. "Play the way you like". If you enjoy roleplaying as a scalper, investment banker [snip] that's fine with me. But it would be nice if you could focus more on [snip] for housing and fashion and leave food and necessary supplies alone.

Well, it's because people keep paying the price they ask because they don't have the "time" to play as intended and harvest and craft.
At least it is not a survival game. :)

There are some things anyone can do. Use the Green CP tree to get extra resources when harvesting. The Liquid Efficiency perk that gives you a chance to not consume a potion. The alchemy crafting tree passive to make potions last longer.

The events that give double node drops. Farm alchemy nodes during these events.
