Impervious Runeward is overtuned

this skill gives a great shield, heals a lot and also does damage, a vampire arcanist with 40k hp is almost unkillable thanks to this skill combined with undeath passive

Its also the only thing that makes arc tanks viable since no single target burst heals are in its tool kit. Its built on shields unfortunately. That makes it very hard to balance. Fact is though that undeath desperately needs to be adjusted since its a huge factor in nearly all "unkillable" builds.

If undeath were nerfed, there'd be fewer complaints about impervious.

Impervious feels way too good because when Arcanists are spamming it, they're usually at low health, taking the 15k shield to an effective 20k with the 30% mitigation from undeath.

It's absurd how easily this skill enables you to survive. It absolutely should not be scaling off health at the bare minimum.

A player with almost no experience in PVP can equip an average PVP build with 40k HP, do nothing but spam runeward with poor buff management and no weaving, and effortlessly survive a full DPS player parsing them flawlessly.

This is also part of the issue. Stacking HP has practically 0 downsides in this meta.

I mean you do lose damage at least however it allows you to chew up enemy resources as they attack you and turn around to wear them down.

Generally I just try to avoid anarchist because of how hard it is to kill one while they in turn still have damage and stuns the night kill you or get you killed

You don't lose nearly enough damage for it to matter.

Not only do you get more health per attribute point than mag or stam (making it far more efficient to put points into health), but for the vast majority of builds in this meta, most damage comes from proc sets. The vast majority of these proc sets are not affected by max mag or stamina, so a solid chunk of builds this patch have nothing to lose from dumping all their attribute points into health.

The base stats given to everyone with CP 2.0 continue to exacerbate this problem. Giving everyone extra weapon and spell damage and extra stats completely defeated the purpose of the CP 2.0 changes. They were supposed to reduce power creep, but by giving everyone extra damage and extra stats just for existing, nothing changed.

I mean this is just another iteration of issues with tanky builds being unbalanced just with different skills. Dk and warden can do exactly the same thing. Camera is right, because you can stack into hp with procs sets as they are and undeath in its current iteration there is no downside. Without that they are just a tank build, in otherwords no damage. If the skill stacks off hp it would be completely manageable if they dont have 50-60k hp. In a normal pvp build that expects to deal damage and has half that they could still be taken down with a good burst combo. This is a symptom, not the cause tbh. Nerfing it in any significant way would bin pve tanks and thats a fact.

You need unusually high single target damage to punch through an Arcanist spamming Impervious Runeward. I've done it on a full dps build with Mechanical Acuity but it's rare. You need to catch your target off guard or they need to make a mistake.

In the above example, the Arcanist ran out of magicka chasing me for 15-20 seconds and couldn't block heal.
