This is the official feedback thread for the new Hermaeus Mora Patron Deck for Tales of Tribute. Specific feedback that the team is looking for includes the following:
  • Were the mechanics of this deck clear and make sense?
  • Was there anything that behaved differently than you expected?
  • Do you have any other general feedback?

Where to even begin? I know I’ve only played one hand but how are we suppose to keep track of the changes these cards cause to our hands and the benefits given to the opponent. I’ll keep playing around with this but this deck seems like a horror show for new players and an instant win for those that master it. Clearly designed by some tech geek who spends their free time doing algorithms.

I've played this deck twice, so far. I find it a very fun deck. It can be a deck that backfires on you or it can be a nice benefit. It is a scary deck, but that is what makes it fun. So far, all the cards that I have played have worked as I expected. I've collected three of the fragments for this deck.

For me the most confusing thing was absence of the deck fragments in the Collectibles. I can see all previous decks there with the descriptions and locations/requirements to get them, I can even see some Molag Bal items for future events but not Hermaeus Mora Deck.
Sure, on PTS it's given straight away, but I'm curious about how we collect the deck on live. From the Patch Notes we know fragments can be found within the shelves and books of the Endless Archive, but so far I've found none of them (maybe they don't drop since we already 'have' the deck? but no, I see the comment above, they do drop). And there are so few shelves and all glowing alluring books in the Archive contain only texts, so idk.

Just looking at the cards, there's no clear way to tell which effect is supposed to be the drawback. The information is given on the tooltip, but the designs of the cards themselves is pretty important to be able to tell at a glance what the card does by the symbols and numbers displayed. I feel like this would be a very simple fix too, just by making the outline of the effect and/or the text on the number red to indicate it's the drawback effect.

I found the deck easy to pick up, but a little simple. I think it needs an extra mechanic.

Since the cards give your opponent coins and power, there should be a mechanic like "If your opponent has at least 3 coins, gain 2 power." So that the more trades you make, the more you get in return for it if you plan it out.

4 of the fragments drop in the Endless Archive, one needs to be purchased from Filer Tezurs (with the Archival Fortunes you earn from defeating Cycle and Arc bosses) in the Endless Archive starting area.

I like the patron a lot in combination with the reach deck. Give a lot of new playstyle possibilitys so it makes the game more complex.
But please give us the card clues for future decks on a template char not directly in the collection but make a container (ToT-Clues) out of them like you do it with treasure and survey maps, so we can search for them on day one for data collection.

Seems too powerful. I've played some games against people using it and they are able to generate 10 to over 20 Power in one turn whlie all I got was a few coins and a card or two. The "drawbacks" are not even remotely close to fair compared to how omnipotent the player using the deck becomes once they combo.
